Can introducing orthotic support early on change the long-term picture for canine carpal osteoarthritis? 🦴
Meet Bernie, a 1-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog who presented with intermittent forelimb lameness and early-stage carpal OA.
Instead of waiting for the condition to progress or completely immobilise the joint, his team introduced a custom WIMBA carpal orthosis. The goal was simple: control excessive, painful hyperextension while actively preserving functional movement.
