Why does ringworm spread so effortlessly between childre and Guinea pigs?❓👇🐹⁣

☣ Ringworm is a highly transmissible fungal infection that can easily spread between animals, pets and people with children at primary risk. It is often transmitted through contact or contaminated bedding and objects. ⁣
⚠️Anyone in contact with the animal who develops any SKIN or NAIL problems should contact their GP.❗⁣

Ringworm should be considered in any Guinea pig that develops bald patches or thinning of the hair. Especially around the head, eyes, nose, ears and further down the back. This can later progress to itchy, scaly, crusty and red skin. ⁣

⚠️Mange and ringworm can both look similar, so careful physical examination by a veterinarian is essential.⁣
Diagnostic tools used for veterinary diagnosis include Wood's UV light, which could show glowing fungi. Fluorescence is not present in lessons and crusts. Your veterinarian might also perform skin scrapes or take samples for culture.⁣
Treatment can include topical or oral antifungal medications and can be quite lengthy.⁣

⚠️You should separate the affected guinea pig and clean and disinfect hutch, bowls, objects and completely change the bedding.⁣

⚠️You should wash your hands every time after you’re handling your infected cavie or any objects which he might be in contact with.⁣

When it all started. ❤

Parvovirus 👇 is a highly infectious virus that affects mainly unvaccinated dogs, especially puppies. This is why it is so important to make sure your puppy is fully vaccinated to try limit the likelihood of them contracting the virus. ❤ Any puppy, especially unvaccinated that shows the symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea should be tested for CPV.
Symptoms include:
- Lethargy, fever
- Diarrhoea (strong smell, bloody)
- Severe vomit
- Inappetence
Virus causes destruction of the lining of the intestinal tract, and destroys some blood cell elements.

🥩🥦🥬🍎🍌Do you Feed RAW? 👌
Please check facts 👇⬇️
and make sure you handle food appropriately.

It is important to be aware of the potential health risks to pets from eating raw based diets and to owners handling the raw products.🦧🤢 Hygiene is extremely important when handling raw meat:👨‍🍳🧫🦠🧼🧽 🧼Wash hands with soap and hot water after handling raw meat. 🧽Wash all surfaces that have been in contact with raw meat.
🧼Wash pet bowls and utensis with soap and hot water, rinse thoroughly and dry before the next use.
☝️ Store unsealed containers or open bags correctly to limit any risk of cross contamination.
❄ Freezing of food at -20°C for 1-2 days inactivates most parasites in meat.❄ ☝️Home-prepared raw diets can be variable in composition and therefore unbalanced and lacking in the correct nutrients.Consequently, feeding RAW can lead to serious health problems, especially in young growing animals. 👌If raw diets are to be used, then processed, pre-frozen diets will minimise the risk of parasite transmission from meat and offal.
