Yesterday’s walk with Freddie he burned loads of energy we went somewhere different this time.

Fred had an amazing solo walk today. We did exactly the same route as yesterday — through Pig Leg and then down to the seafront. I definitely think it’s becoming one of my new favourite walks.

Patch will be back soon. They told me to take the week off from walking him because I work so hard, but I said I’m absolutely fine. And I can still walk him . I’m not here for the money I’m here to help. This is what I’m here for — helping people out and making sure their dogs get the walks and care they need.

Lovely walk yesterday with Fred chase and milo. Fred’s first time in a while seeing them he had lots of energy. To burn all there energy off because they were so excited to see each other I took them to pig leg lane and then down to the seafront to get there 1hr30 min walk

I had a lovely 30-minute drop-in visit with Chase and Milo today. I hadn’t seen them for a while, and they were certainly excited to see me! I’ve really missed these two little dogs.

We spent some time in the garden doing enrichment activities, which are great for keeping dogs mentally stimulated and engaged. Of course, there were plenty of cuddles too, which made the visit even more special. It was wonderful to spend some quality time with them again.

I had a lovely walk with Freddie today. He was so well behaved, and it was really nice to see him after a few days apart. He had so much energy, so I took him down Pig Leg Lane to help him burn some of it off. We had a great time, and it was lovely to spend some quality time together.

Due to the heatwave, I cancelled my dog walks because it’s simply too hot. I offered my clients the option to swap their walks for drop-in visits instead, but many chose not to — which is completely fine. Honestly, I’ve struggled coping with the heat myself.

I’ve seen so many people walking their dogs in the middle of the day, and it’s far too hot for their little paws. Even in the evening, when people think the ground has cooled down, pavements can still hold heat from the entire day and remain dangerously hot.

No dog should be out walking in weather like this unless absolutely necessary. The risks of heatstroke, burned paws, dehydration, or even death are very real. Dogs won’t suffer from missing a walk for a day or two, but they can suffer severely from the heat.

A good rule to remember: if you can’t comfortably place your hand on the pavement for five seconds, then it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

If you do need to go out early in the morning or later in the evening, please try to stick to shaded areas, bring plenty of water, and do everything you can to keep your dogs cool and safe.

Even my guinea pigs, Coco and Lola, have been struggling in this heat. I’ve had to move them into a cooler room with a fan because high temperatures can be incredibly dangerous for small animals too.

All animals suffer in extreme heat. My saying is: if you’re struggling with the temperature, imagine how a dog wearing a thick fur coat must feel — they will almost certainly be suffering even more.

I’m so grateful that all of my clients have been incredibly understanding during this heatwave. Your support and care for your pets means so much.

The guinea pigs have been having a wonderful time lately 🐹💚
They’ve loved being outside in the back garden, as well as running around the kitchen exploring.

From munching on hay and carrots to getting loads of cuddles from me, they’ve been very happy little piggies 🥕✨

Lovely evening walk with the boys 🌅
The weather was amazing for us, but a little too warm for the dogs 🐾

From now on, our walks are moving to late evenings and early mornings for the foreseeable future.

☀️ Hot weather reminder for all dog owners ☀️

While the sunshine is lovely for us, it can be dangerous for our dogs. Dogs can overheat very quickly, especially during walks on hot days, and heatstroke can become serious in a matter of minutes.

Please remember:
🐾 Walk dogs early morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler
🐾 Always carry fresh water
🐾 Avoid hot pavements — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
🐾 Make sure they have plenty of shade and time to rest
🐾 Never leave dogs in cars, even for a few minutes

Our dogs rely on us to keep them safe and comfortable during the warmer weather

Next week, with the weather set to be lovely but quite hot for the dogs, I’ll be moving walks to the mornings or evenings when it’s cooler to help prevent overheating and keep them comfortable.
