People often say they wish their dog could speak. As a Clinical Canine Massage Therapist, I’m trained to listen to what they have to say. 🐾

Dogs communicate so much through their subtle body language and small cues. A slow blink, ear twitch, body shift, sigh, lip lick, paw stretch, tail position, changes in breathing, muscle tension, leaning in, moving away, or even where they choose to place themselves during treatment can all tell a story.

Every session is tailored to each dog’s individual needs and by paying close attention to these signals, I can adjust pressure, technique, positioning, and pace to help them feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the session.

Dogs may not use words, but they are constantly communicating — and when we take the time to truly listen, they tell us exactly what they need. ❤️

Did you know that constantly pulling on the lead can put significant strain on your dog’s muscles and body? 🐾

When dogs pull, muscles in the neck, shoulders, chest and back work overtime. Over time this can lead to tightness, discomfort and even changes in movement.

Some of the most commonly affected muscles include:
• The trapezius and brachiocephalicus muscles in the neck and shoulders
• The pectoral muscles in the chest
• The latissimus dorsi along the back
• The hamstrings and lower back muscles as dogs brace and pull forward

You may notice signs such as:
🐕 Stiffness after walks
🐕 Reluctance to exercise
🐕 Uneven gait or posture
🐕 Sensitivity when touched
🐕 Reduced mobility or performance

Canine massage therapy can help by:
✔ Releasing tight muscles and tension
✔ Improving flexibility and range of movement
✔ Increasing circulation
✔ Supporting recovery from strain and overuse
✔ Helping your dog feel more comfortable and relaxed

As a mobile canine therapist based in Bingley, I treat dogs in the comfort of their own home, helping reduce stress and making treatment more relaxing for your dog.

Serving Bingley and surrounding areas.

Meet Eadie 🐾💕

The most gorgeous miniature Dachshund. At 10 years young, Eadie is now entering her senior years, and her lovely owner is doing everything she can to keep her happy, comfortable, and moving well for as long as possible — exactly how it should be ❤️

When Eadie’s PT mentioned she was showing some tightness through her hind limbs, her owner didn’t wait for problems to develop and contacted me to help support her mobility and quality of life.

During Eadie’s Clinical Canine Massage sessions, I’ve been working on releasing tension through her glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and lower back muscles. As dogs age, compensatory movement patterns, muscle tightness, and stiffness can begin to affect how easily they can walk, rise, or enjoy their daily adventures. Massage helps improve circulation, reduce discomfort, increase flexibility, and support healthier movement patterns.

Clinical Canine Massage works by assessing and treating the soft tissues and muscles throughout the body to help relieve pain, reduce tension, improve mobility, and aid recovery. It can benefit dogs suffering with arthritis, stiffness, mobility issues, postural changes, compensatory strain, or simply those needing support as they age gracefully 🐶✨

Preventative care can make such a difference, especially for our senior dogs, and Eadie is an absolute superstar to work with 💖

We had a great weekend meeting lots of lovely dogs Aireworth Dogs in Need - Registered Charity No. 1162052 — and there were some very common themes we saw caused simply by everyday activities 🐾

Things like:
• Pulling on the lead
• Chasing and catching balls repeatedly
• Running on slippy floors
• Jumping on and off furniture
• Rough play
• Long walks or overexercising
• Carrying extra weight
• Old age and arthritis

…can all create muscle tension, soreness, and stiffness over time.

Many dogs show subtle signs of discomfort such as:
🐶 Slowing down on walks
🐶 Stiffness after resting
🐶 Difficulty jumping into the car or onto furniture
🐶 Changes in posture or movement
🐶 Reluctance to be touched in certain areas

Canine massage can help by:
✔ Relieving muscle tension
✔ Improving flexibility and mobility
✔ Supporting circulation
✔ Helping recovery after exercise
✔ Promoting relaxation and wellbeing
✔ Supporting senior dogs with stiffness and aches

Massage isn’t just a luxury — it can be an important part of helping dogs stay comfortable, mobile, and happy throughout their lives ❤️
