What amazing weather we are having in South Wales! ☀️

Just a little reminder to keep your rabbits and small mammals cool during the warm weather.

You can do this by;
🐾 Providing lots of shade
🐾 Plenty of access to bowls & bottles of water
🐾 Using covered ice packs or frozen water bottles
🐾 Placing damp towels over the top of enclosures
🐾 Providing cool surfaces such as stone tiles, ceramic tiles, or soil (as pictured!)
🐾 Use a fan - this must be indirect so not blowing air into them as it can be stressful and dry their eyes
🐾 Outdoor pets can be brought indoors if its cooler - do make sure it is definitely cooler and they still have plenty of space.

🚗 If you are travelling to the vet try to keep the car cool, bring some water for your pet, and place a damp towel over their carrier.

❗ If you suspect your pet may have overheated - such as being lethargic, not eating or drinking, panting, salivating, acting confused or having convulsions - call your vets immediately ❗
