October is a busy month so we have limited events this month, however that just means you have to make sure to jump into the events we do have running 😉

There will always be our regular mix of pack walks, with the Neutral Walks for Honest Hounds members, and our social and adventure walks for those ready to take the next step! Remember you need to have completed a Social Walk Assessment to be able to join the social and adventure walks!

The Stranger Danger workshop has been requested a lot recently so we are running another one this month. It's the perfect session to start working on shifting your dogs mindset around strangers. Suitable for dogs pessimistic or reactive towards people!

Social Walk Sundays!

Another lovely social walk this weekend up at Captain's Cooks Monument. All the dogs did incredibly well despite the tight paths, picnickers, and some not having seen each other in a long time!

Not a single dog had a reaction, all of them just settled into the walk, had hundreds of neutral and positive interactions, and helped cement the learning from our 1-1 sessions!

Want to go on real adventures with your dog?

Last weekend we were joined in the lakes by an awesome group of people who had put the effort in, made some incredible progress with their dogs reactivity and wanted to take the next step in a guided, safe and supportive environment!

Proper Paws hosted it's first ever weekend adventure holiday, Manners and Mountains, that included some incredible walks, paddleboarding with and without the dogs, massage and stretching workshops and settle workshops on a hectic campsite full of screaming kids and barking dogs.

It's slightly mind-blowing to me that considering we were on a holiday for reactive dogs, our dogs definitely seemed to be some of the most chilled and best behaved on the site!

We had such an incredible weekend, a huge shout out to the owners who pushed themselves and took the chance. The dogs did incredibly well at every opportunity and I can't wait to see them all continuing to build on their progress and continue living their best lives!

Vinnies second week has come to an end and he is back home with his people carrying on all the work we have been doing over the last two weeks!

We spent the second week building on all the foundations we laid during the first week, continuing to build engagement in more distracting environments, positively conditioning the e-collar to proof his recall and having even more fun and adventures.

Two weeks isn't enough to do it all though, we've given him a reset, got a deeper understanding into his behaviours and worked out how best to help him. His owners now have the job of continuing on with all this good work to keep building on his progress and getting back to living the life they imagined with him!

I got a video from his first walk back home and wait till the end to see how well he is doing!

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA, I BELIEVE THE COMPANY IS A SCAM! THEY WILL YAKE YOUR MONEY, NOT DELIVER A PRODUCT, AND NOT REPLY TO ANY ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THEM!

I tried to buy this camera on the 27th January, it was due to arrive with 5-7 working days and I even got a tracking number for my parcel.

They had good reviews and even attached video footage of the camera being used.

However after 4 days, the tracking details were showing that the parcel had not arrived with the courier and it was showing as unknown. It is still showing that to this day!

I replied to the original order email to try and get an update, which it said to do at the bottom of the email, and I got no reply.

A few days later, I submitted a query through the contact us section on the website, I still got no reply!

Next I tried using the email provided on the website, this one was different to the email the order came through on, still no reply.

I've sent a 4th email to the same details, I have now contacted their page on Instagram, and still nothing!

I paid £170 for the kit and extra memory card as I thought it would be an excellent tool to use for my business and being able to record my training sessions and social walks hands free.

I will not be taking all action possible to get my money back and get the company s**t down or to ensure nobody else is scammed by them!

Do you understand why confidence is so important?!

A confident dog is one that can approach new or unusual circumstances with optimism and anticipation rather than pessimism and apprehension!

Think of confidence as a shield that prevents stress from becoming your dogs default response to anything new!

When our dogs are stressed, they are much more likely to have a negative response, resulting in unwanted behaviours!

We all want a happy and relaxed dog, and that's where confidence is king!
