With temperatures expected to stay very high over the coming days, please take extra care to keep pets safe and avoid unnecessary travel during the hottest parts of the day.
🌡️ Anything over 25°C can be dangerous for many pets, and heatstroke can become a life-threatening emergency.
Extra care is needed for:
🐶 Our more senior fur babies
🐶 Flat-faced breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, etc.)
🐶 Pets with heart, breathing, or mobility issues
🐶 Young puppies and kittens
🐰 Small animals and rabbits
💧 Always provide fresh, cool water
🌳 Walk dogs early morning or later evening — skipping walks in extreme heat is okay
🔥 Avoid hot pavements (if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws)
🚗 Never leave pets in cars, conservatories, or poorly ventilated spaces
❄️ Ensure access to shade and cool areas indoors and outdoors

🚨 Signs of heatstroke 🚨:
• Excessive panting or rapid breathing
• Drooling
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Collapse or confusion
