In fairness to Emily, we’re all just as bad as each other 😂

Procrastination is practically my middle name, and we’re all very good at distracting each other when we should be getting on with things 🤪

We’ve been a little quieter on here lately, mainly because the studio is absolutely full steam ahead getting ready for Christmas, preparing for the Bath and Exeter Christmas markets, alongside working on some rather exciting things behind the scenes that we can’t wait to share

There are collars to make, leads to finish and approximately 101 things on the to-do list

And whilst things might be a little quieter on here, I promise there’s plenty happening behind the scenes. We’ve got some exciting things coming your way, a few surprises up our sleeves and lots of lovely things to share as we head towards Christmas. So if you love seeing what goes into running a small handmade business (chaos and all), stick around. You won’t want to miss what’s coming! 👀

In the meantime, if you pop into the studio, please don’t encourage us. We really haven’t got time to be this easily distracted 🤣

I’ve been so excited to get these photos back, and I think they might just be some of our favourites yet!

Our luxury leather sighthound collars have been one of our bestselling designs for years, and we wanted to give them a shoot that really captured everything we love about them.

Beautiful leather, a gorgeous country estate, autumn sunshine and six rather fabulous four-legged models. I don’t think we could have asked for a better combination 🥰

There’s something really special about seeing the products we make by hand in our Devon studio brought to life like this

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this shoot happen. It really was the loveliest afternoon, and I think the results speak for themselves

It’s National Manufacturing Day 🇬🇧

And it feels like a good excuse to talk about something that has become such a huge part of Storeys & Tails.

When we started, we simply wanted to make really good dog collars. I’m not sure I ever imagined that one day we’d have a studio full of machinery, a brilliant team of makers, and be manufacturing not only for our own customers, but for other brands too.

We’ve chosen to keep making here in Britain, and as we’ve grown, that’s become something we care about more and more.

Not because it’s always the easiest way to do things — it definitely isn’t — but because we love the craft of it. The problem solving, learning new techniques, investing in better machinery, developing new products and constantly working out how we can do things better.

And the biggest reason we’re able to keep doing it is you.

Every order placed with us supports a little chain of British manufacturing. It keeps our team making, allows us to invest in skills and equipment, and helps us continue building a business where knowing how something was made still matters.

So, on National Manufacturing Day, a very big thank you for allowing us to keep doing what we love.

Here’s to making things well, knowing where they came from, and seeing where this little Devon workshop takes us next. ❤️

Apparently you can tell the season by our order table… 🍂

The brighter shades are slowly making way for burnt orange, all the greens, w**e and all those richer autumn colours — and we’re very much here for it 🙌🏼
