At Bicester Vets we pride ourselves on caring for your pets as we would care for our own. We have long opening hours for your convenience & provide our own 24 hour emergency vet should you require assistance out of hours. What's more the service is conveniently based at our own practice so there's no need to drive to an unfamiliar Emergency Centre. We also have 24 hour on-site nursing care as standard for our hospitalised patients.

Back to school doesn't just affect children - it affects pets too!

After weeks of family holidays, lazy mornings and lots of attention, many dogs (and some cats!) suddenly find themselves spending much more time alone once everyone heads back to work and school.

For some pets, this change is no problem. For others, it can lead to separation anxiety.

Common signs include:

> Barking, howling or whining when left
> Chewing furniture or household items
> Scratching at doors or windows
> Becoming unusually clingy when you're home
> Toileting indoors despite being house-trained

The good news is that there are lots of ways you can help!

> Gradually reintroduce short periods alone before routines change
> Leave enrichment toys or food puzzles to keep them occupied
> Avoid making arrivals and departures overly emotional
> Ensure they're getting plenty of exercise and mental stimulation

If your pet is already showing signs of distress, don't struggle alone. Our team can offer advice and, where appropriate, discuss behaviour support to help your pet feel happier and more confident.

After all, a relaxed pet makes coming home even sweeter ❤️

Why does choosing a local independent veterinary practice matter?

Because local practices are built around relationships.

At Bicester Vets, we're proud to be employee-owned and deeply connected to our community. The decisions we make every day are focused on providing the highest standards of care for local pets and their families.

We believe continuity matters. Seeing familiar faces, building long-term relationships with your veterinary team and knowing who is caring for your pet can make a real difference.

We're incredibly proud to care for pets across our community and grateful for the trust you place in us every day - thank you! 💕

Did you know our Bicester Vets Healthy Pets Club isn't just for cats and dogs? 🐰

Rabbits need regular preventative healthcare too, and our rabbit health plan has been designed to help owners stay on top of essential treatments while spreading the cost across affordable monthly payments.

Routine healthcare is especially important for rabbits, helping to protect them against serious diseases and ensuring they're regularly monitored by our veterinary team.

By joining our health plan, you can give your rabbit the preventative care they need while making budgeting easier throughout the year.
