Recall for YEARS dog food

Following the voluntary recall of all Years Fresh Meals, we know your first thought will be for your dog, whether they’re safe, what you should feed them and how you can continue caring for them.

To be clear, this recall is a precaution. Our investigation has identified a potential link between buckwheat, an ingredient used in many dog foods, and reported cases of dry eye. Lab testing will confirm this, but we've taken the decision not to wait.

Dogs' health & wellbeing have always driven us, and that means acting now rather than waiting for absolute certainty.

Please stop feeding any Years Signature Meals immediately, even if your dog seems well. When choosing an alternative, we recommend continuing with complete & balanced fresh food with wholefood ingredients.

We’ve paused all Years subscriptions. Upcoming orders will be cancelled and refunded automatically to your original payment method. If an order is in transit, please refuse this and contact Customer Care to receive your account credit.

Alongside our ongoing investigation, we’re reformulating our meals without buckwheat, with your dog's wellbeing at the heart of every decision, so, when Years returns, you can feel fully confident filling their bowl again.

We did it!! We finally got our finale!! Puppy Foundations most recent graduates. Due to the constant heat waves, classes became all rather sporadic.

Some couldn’t make the final class so as a thank you to everyone for their kindness and patience with all the changes, we couldn’t let them go without a proper JustPuppies send off!!

Held at the wonderful Wendlebury Walkies secure field, Chester, Hank, Willow and Molly got to have a play, splash and some focus practice too!

It was still too hot to play the games planned but boy did they have a great time. So wonderful to see them happy and confident.

This is very true.

It’s important to teach your puppy cues in different scenarios.

Always start off in a non distractive environment. Once they have been taught a behaviour, let’s use ‘sit’ as an example …. In the house with your puppy directly in front of you, then do it in varying locations. Lounge, kitchen, garden etc.

You can then ask them for a sit whilst you’re moving from room to room. Or create a small distance and ask for a sit.

When you teach your puppy a cue, it doesn’t mean they will automatically apply it in different locations, different scenarios etc. We need to practice it.

Any behaviours we would like our puppies and dogs to do needs practice. Want your puppy to be calm when out? Find a quiet bench, take a big treat bag full of their food and some tasty treats and reward them for being calm and switching off.

Want your puppy to focus on you during some distraction? Practice it in an environment they can get it right in. Slowly increasing the distraction levels. Reward them every time they look at you!

Beach Safety

Save this before your next beach day 🐚

Beach days sound magical — until something happens you didn’t see coming. Here’s what every dog owner should keep in mind before heading out, especially small dogs and puppies.

1️⃣ Salt water poisoning
A little sip here and there? Totally fine. But too much salt water can cause vomiting, tremors, even seizures — and small pups dehydrate faster than you’d think. Always bring fresh water and offer it every 20 minutes, no exceptions. Excessive salt can also cause diarrhoea! Definitely something you don’t need near the beach. Also, wash off the salt from their fur when you leave the beach. It can dry on their coat and irritate plus they can lick themselves and ingest more salt.

2️⃣ Blue-green algae
This one lives in still, stagnant water near the beach — not the ocean itself. Sounds harmless, isn’t: seizures, liver damage, no antidote. If your dog so much as touches it, call the vet immediately. No “let’s wait and see.”

3️⃣ Water inhalation
They swim, shake off, seem totally fine... then hours later the coughing starts. This is the one that catches even careful owners off guard, because the danger shows up after you’re already home. Coughing after a swim = same-day vet call.

4️⃣ Sand impaction
Between the ball-chasing and the digging, dogs swallow way more sand than you’d guess. Enough of it can block their intestines. Watch for vomiting, a tender belly, or no appetite the next day.

5️⃣ Grass seeds near the dunes
These little troublemakers love hiding in paws, ears, and noses. A quick 30-second check between the toes and inside the ears after every beach walk can save you a world of trouble. Another thing to watch out for near dunes is Adders depending on the time of year.

Apparently we’ve been such good girls ….. we’ve been given a holiday toy!! Gully the Seagull (including a chip!).

Question is will they be in one piece by the time we get home ….?! 🐾
