I had the pleasure of cutting Sapphire’s nails recently, she is a Timber (wolf-a-like dog) here is a bit about her from her owner:
Sapphire’s nail clipping history: she was fine as a puppy and then she just started being extra sensitive about being interfered with, claw clipping has been a nightmare over the years we've tried most tactics and have resorted to a two person job with her carried by one and either clippers used or the dog dremel by the other. Wriggly dogs with black nails are definitely not easy 😝
She's quite shy, sensitive and highly strung generally. General temprament: Being a timber dog (wolf-a-like) they go through extra fear phases as they mature so we've had a few socialisation problems/fear reactivity stemming from lockdowns when she was a puppy.
I won't lie, I was incredibly nervous about this nail clipping appointment and doubtful that Rhian would be able to clip any of Sapphires claws, my dog is seriously dramatic!
Rhian was quick and efficient with those clippers, ignored her very dramatic yodel-yelping and wriggly ways. Gave Sapphire tonnes of reassurance which she loved (and she doesn't usually like other humans) and little breaks to help her calm down.
Overall I feel Saffy had a very positive experience and I felt incredibly supported by Rhians no nonsense but massively caring approach.
I would definitely recommend Rhian at the content k9 company to anyone struggling with an anxious, highly-strung pooch!
