To my lovely Fluff & Buff clients & followers, please be advised that I have had to make the decision to close the salon from mid day this week.

With today through to Saturday forecast to reach ridiculous temperatures I have made the decision to reschedule any dogs booked in from 12pm onwards on those days.

Although the salon is fully air conditioned, my main concern is the dogs’ welfare when travelling.
Please know this is not a decision that I have taken lightly. Cancelled appointments mean I lose money, but I’d rather take the hit; my little Fluff & Buff pups have to be my first priority.

I will be contacting affected clients directly to arrange alternative appointments.

☀️ HOT WEATHER UPDATE FROM FLUFF & BUFF 🐾❄️

The sunshine is lovely… but it’s certainly a little too warm for our four-legged friends! 🥵

With temperatures soaring this week, I wanted to let you know that your dog’s comfort and safety will be my main priority during every groom.

The salon is air conditioned, however once the equipment gets to work it can still be a task keeping everything cool if the temperatures outside are soaring! ☀️

A few things I’d really appreciate your help with:

🚗 Please travel by car if you can. The pavements are extremely hot and can burn paws very quickly. Park on site and, if your car has air conditioning, keep it running during your journey and cool the car before your dog gets in.

💧 Keep your dog cool and hydrated before their appointment. Plenty of fresh water, a cool place to rest and avoiding unnecessary exercise will make a huge difference.

🐶 Please don’t walk your dog before or after their groom. A quick toilet break in the garden is much kinder than a walk in this heat. I’d also recommend waiting at least an hour either side of their appointment before feeding them.

If you think your dog may struggle or you have any concerns, please just get in touch.

In an effort to avoid the hottest days/parts of the days I have altered my diary and offered super early appointments to those it may affect.
If anyone would prefer to come in early please get in touch and I will try and accommodate this where possible.

Tilly - one of my favourite dogs to work with, came in for her summer glow up today ☀️

It’s safe to say, when Tilly isn’t modelling at Crufts, she loves nothing more than rolling around in the mud!
3 rounds of Peanut & Pickle Palm Springs, a marshmallow Facial and Cocomallow conditioner, she was ready to go!

All fluff dried using Houndsley 5-in-1 magic coat spray she was fully prepped so I could finally get to work styling out her new look 👀 ✂️

Adorable Rosie came to see me in the salon today for a fresh summer style ☀️

I always look forward to seeing little Rosie - she’s one of my OG’s

Her little face is full of expression and her personality is just as gorgeous as she is 🥰

✨ Grooming Tip Spotlight: The Magic of a Pumice Stone ✨

Today’s willing assistant was Biscuit, quite possibly the sweetest little Spaniel you’ll ever meet. 🐾

If you’ve never seen a pumice stone used in grooming, it’s one of those simple tools that can make a huge difference. It’s fantastic for helping remove loose, dead coat and lifting out stubborn hair, leaving the coat looking neater, healthier, and feeling wonderfully smooth.

Of course, Biscuit was less interested in the technical side of things and more focused on making her adorable little grumbling noises throughout the session. Not grumpy noises, mind you—just her way of providing a running commentary on the whole experience.

And whenever she wasn’t supervising my work, she was busy asking for kisses. ❤️

The result? Less loose coat, a beautifully tidy finish, and one very happy little Spaniel who was rewarded for all her hard work with plenty of fuss.

Safe to say Biscuit was a star from start to finish. 🌟
