🚨⚠️Hand Touch or "Target" is a very simple and effective way to increase the engagement and attention shown by your dog. This can also be used for recall purposes (see below on how to teach it)
Step One - Take a tasty treat your dog loves and rub it on your hand 🐶
Step Two - When your dog sniffs your hand, mark with "yes" and reward with a treat. Repeat this several times (add the word touch after a few repetitions of the nose touching your palm)
Step Three - Repeat the above several times from a few metres away
Step Four - Start to reward once your dog can do two or more targets in a row
Step Five - Say "touch" while your dog is in the garden minding his/her own business....or while they're digging 😂
REWARD EVERY TIME - have fun 🙂
