The weather is looking perfect this week for a visit to one of our fields! 🌤️🐾

After the heat this summer, it’s lovely to have some cooler, more comfortable weather for the dogs, perfect for a good run, plenty of sniffing and, of course, a few zoomies! 🐶💨

We’re planning the next sandpit and would love your help settling a friendly debate! 🐾

I’d like to make it 3.6 m × 2.4 m so there’s plenty of room for digging. Everyone who maintains the fields is voting for the smaller 2.4 m × 2.4 m square version, as it would be easier to maintain. They do have a point… but I’d like to hear what you and your dogs think! Max is a big fan of running up and down the sandpit, but it isn’t all about Max (don’t tell him).

A little reminder if you’ve been avoiding the fields during the recent hot weather…

The temperatures are finally coming back down to much more
dog-friendly levels, so it’s a great time to get back out for a proper run! We bumped into someone recently who said they hadn’t been to the fields for ages because of the heat, and it got us thinking that they probably aren’t the only ones!

The fields are looking lovely, and with our longer summer opening
hours there are plenty of opportunities to book a cooler morning or evening slot. So if your dog has been taking it easy during the hot weather, why not get a field booked and let them have some proper zoomies again? 🐾🌱

🌾 We'd love your thoughts! 🐾

One of the things we love most about our fields is seeing dogs enjoy them in different ways. Some of our own dogs absolutely love bounding through longer grass, playing hide and seek and "pogoing" through the wild areas! 💚

We know, however, that every dog is different. While some love exploring longer grass, others (especially our spaniel friends! 🐶) can find it less practical.

At the moment, all of our fields (apart from Walkington) have areas of longer grass and wildlife habitat. These areas are great for encouraging nature, supporting wildlife and giving dogs a different environment to explore.

So we'd love to hear from you...

For everyone's safety, we kindly ask that no smoking takes place on our dog fields. 🚭🐾

With the ground being so dry, a discarded cigarette could easily start a fire, putting our dogs, visitors, and the surrounding countryside at risk.

☀️🐾 Hot Weather Reminder 🐾☀️

Please take extra care when using the dog fields during warmer weather 🌡️

Dogs can overheat very quickly, especially when they’re running around having fun, so we’d recommend:

💧 Bringing plenty of fresh water
🐶 Taking regular breaks in the shade
🌳 Avoiding the hottest parts of the day where possible
🐾 Watching for signs of overheating such as excessive panting, slowing down or lethargy
🚗 Never leaving dogs in the car before or after your session

Some dogs don’t always know when to stop, so it’s important we help keep them safe while they enjoy the fields 💛

And as always, please remember to pick up after your dogs and leave the field tidy for the next visitor 😊

For the first time ever, all 6 fields are now open full time (7am–9pm) which feels like a bit of a milestone for us!

With everything up and running and the ground finally dried out, we do currently have some weekday daytime availability.

If you’ve been thinking about booking, now’s a great time, it’s generally quieter, there’s plenty of space, and the fields are looking much more like spring than winter.
