A-Z Exotics is brought to you by husband and wife team Karl & Laura Hudson. Between us both we have over 30 years of paid practical animal industry experience, the majority of which involved the care and welfare of exotic animals in Zoo's. On top of that we also both hold a BSc Honours Degree in Animal Behaviour. Because of our unique background we have spent many years looking after Exotic pets f

or friends and family while they were away on holiday. During which time, similar comments would arise about how difficult it is to source individuals or businesses that are able to cater for exotic animals. From this we identified a strong need for such a service to exist and hence A-Z was born! We aim to remove the hassle for our customers by providing custom made and suitable environments for your pets to go right into, giving you total piece of mind while you are away. So far we have adapted our home to be able to accommodate an extensive range of exotic animals, our main features being our Reptile Suite and Tortoise Lodge.

I promised myself I wouldn’t be a typical British citizen & comment on the weather, but the urge is just too strong 🌧🌦🌂

What is happening?? 🤷‍♀️

I currently feel like a snake permanently stuck in shed due to my rain coat constantly going on & coming off again 🐍

My June expectation was one of being a bare foot free spirit in my garden soaking up the aromatic scents of home grown herbs 🌱 & the lush UV goodness of the sun ☀️, surrounded by Tortoises, Rabbits & Wookie’s (aka – Guinea pigs).

Instead we are peeling slugs off produce & scrubbing fungus off the pavers

Here’s hoping some consistency returns soon! 🙏

Right from being little I was always oddly attracted to these crazy creatures 🥰

Not so much because they are effortlessly striking, enchanting or even their incredible ability to mimic sounds & words so meticulously.

But rather due to their sheer intelligence & complexity....and yet, there is still so much we have yet to learn!

To be frank & honest, we very rarely ever have plans on bank holidays.

The pressure to conform to an absolutely perfect & jam packed day out or short break away is absurd – as if we don’t face enough pressure to conform or be perfect in general already!

Not to mention horrific traffic jams, over crowded beaches & sweaty packed cafes – from a family of introverts, the thought literally makes our skin crawl 😆

We have even had clients already assuming we don’t take animals over bank holidays because we are ‘busy’ 🤷‍♀️

If you think your alone in this your definitely not...

We will just be hiding away in our safe haven with the animals🦎🐢🐦actively soaking up the lush UV rays 🌞 & avoiding the carnage on the other side!
