Don’t panic… no sheep were harmed! 😂 But things are getting seriously SPOOKY at Naylor’s Ark! 🎃

The incredible students from Hereward College have been busy bringing our Halloween Trick or Treat Trail to life, and just LOOK at their creations! 😍

From spooky sheep what’s in the box and handmade signs, every piece has been created with imagination, teamwork and a whole lot of Halloween spirit! 🧡

But this is about so much more than Halloween.

We’re giving young people with disabilities and additional needs the opportunity to put their creativity into action, build confidence and see their hard work become something that families across our community can enjoy. 🥹❤️

Even better? They’re helping us create an inclusive Halloween experience, where children who might find traditional trick or treating overwhelming can join in the fun too!

🍂🍷 A little sloe gin, a lot of laughter and some lovely memories made! ❤️

A few beautiful moments captured at our recent Sloe Gin Workshop here at Naylor’s Ark! 🌿✨

There’s something so special about bringing people together, slowing down, getting creative and enjoying the simple things in life.

From preparing our sloes to creating our very own bottles of homemade gin, it was a lovely day filled with smiles, conversation and a little countryside magic! 🥰

Every workshop we hold helps us continue caring for our rescued animals while creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and make memories. 🐐❤️

💜🎃 Halloween should be magical for EVERYONE!

For some children, traditional trick or treating is exciting. For others, the crowds, noise and unexpected scares can be completely overwhelming. ❤️

That’s why we’re creating something a little different at Naylor’s Ark!

Our incredibly supportive Hereward College students have been busy back at college creating Witches’ Brew and spooky surprises for our Halloween Trail! 🧙‍♀️✨

Alongside our Home Education group, they’re helping create an inclusive Halloween experience where everyone can feel welcome, including those who might struggle with traditional trick or treating.

🥹💜 The most beautiful part? Young people who face barriers themselves are helping us remove barriers for others.

This is about so much more than Halloween. It’s about confidence, opportunity, inclusion and showing these students just how much they have to offer their community.

🐾❤️ A BONDED MOTHER & SON HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER A YEAR FOR THEIR FOREVER HOME! ❤️🐾

We’re sharing a heartfelt appeal to help two beautiful cats find the loving home they deserve.

Meet a gorgeous 4-year-old Scottish Fold calico mum and her 3-year-old Scottish Straight son, who is white and ginger and was born with a very small eye. 🐱

These two have already experienced a lot of upheaval in their short lives. Their current owner took them in after discovering they had been kept outdoors due to having fleas. Sadly, despite a year of trying to make things work, another cat in the household continues to bully them.

They deserve a peaceful home where they can finally feel safe, settled and loved. ❤️

🏡 Their dream home would be:

* A quiet, patient household with no other cats.
* Someone who is home regularly and has plenty of love to give.
* Access to a safe, secure garden, as both enjoy spending time outdoors.
* A family willing to give them time to adjust, particularly mum, who is nervous around unfamiliar people.
* Most importantly, a home where they can stay together. They are a bonded pair and must not be separated.

❤️ An important note about their health:

Scottish Fold cats carry a genetic mutation affecting cartilage throughout their bodies, not just their ears. This can cause a condition called osteochondrodysplasia, resulting in painful joints and mobility difficulties.

Mum currently requires mobility supplements, and her future family must understand the breed’s welfare needs and be prepared to provide ongoing veterinary care and appropriate pain management if required.

Both cats are neutered/spayed and microchipped.

Their current owner has spent a whole year trying to find them the right home. We would love to help make that happen. 🥹

🥺❤️ 7 LITTLE LIVES ARE WAITING FOR A SAFE PLACE TO CALL HOME… CAN YOU HELP?

We’ve been asked to offer a forever home to seven sugar gliders, and we’re determined to give them the life they deserve. ❤️

These beautiful little animals have already been given a second chance by a wonderful lady who rescued them from someone who simply didn’t understand their complex needs.

Sadly, this is the reality for far too many exotic animals.

💔 Sugar gliders might be tiny and adorable, but they’re not cuddly pocket pets. They’re intelligent, social, nocturnal animals who need specialist diets, companionship and plenty of space to climb, leap and glide.

They deserve so much more than a life confined to an unsuitable cage.

At Naylor’s Ark, we want to give these seven a spacious, naturalistic home where they can express their natural behaviours.

But we want their rescue to mean something bigger, too. 🌿

Through carefully managed educational experiences, we hope to help children and adults understand the realities of exotic animal ownership and why researching an animal’s needs before bringing it home is so important.

Because education today could prevent another animal needing rescue tomorrow. ❤️

We need approximately 30 metres of suitable mesh to create their new enclosure.

Naylor’s Ark receives no regular external funding. Everything we do, from rescuing animals to providing educational opportunities, relies on the generosity of people who believe these animals deserve better.

🎃👹 CAN YOU FEED THE HUNGRY MONSTER?! 👀

Our Home Education group have been busy bringing one of our Halloween trail tricks to life this week… and we think they’ve done a MONSTER of a job! 🤩👏

🎨 This week’s creativity came with a little learning too! We explored colour theory, primary colours and how mixing colours creates new shades, putting our newfound knowledge into practice as we painted our very own hungry monster!

🌸🐷 SOME GIRLS DON’T NEED ANOTHER SOCIAL GROUP… THEY JUST NEED SOMEWHERE THEY CAN BE THEMSELVES. ❤️

For some girls, school is overwhelming, friendships are difficult and social situations can feel exhausting.

But animals don’t expect eye contact, force conversations or judge awkward silences. 🥹❤️

That’s why we’re so excited to be teaming up with Blossom and Belong CIC to offer something special for girls experiencing anxiety, autism, school avoidance, social isolation or mental health struggles.

🐷💕 WE’VE CREATED A MONSTER… A VERY CUTE, VERY DEMANDING MONSTER! 😂

After weeks of trying to convince our piggies that we are, in fact, friends and not terrifying two-legged creatures… we’ve FINALLY won them over! 🥹❤️

Unfortunately, nobody warned us about the consequences of gaining a pig’s trust…

What started as a little tummy rub has now turned into a full-time job. Apparently, once you start rubbing a piggy’s belly, you’re NOT allowed to stop. 😂🐽

We’ve gone from desperately trying to earn their affection to being held hostage by a pig who demands unlimited belly rubs.

And yes… we’re absolutely going to continue enabling this behaviour. 🥹🤣

🎃👻 THE HALLOWEEN MAGIC IS BEGINNING… AND BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN! 🕷️🧙‍♀️

A wonderful group of students from Hereward College have been busy creating some SPOOKTACULAR decorations for our Halloween Trick or Treat Trail! 🕸️🖤

For those who don’t know, Hereward College supports young people with disabilities and additional needs, and we’re so proud to have their creativity, hard work and imagination bringing our little sanctuary to life this Halloween! 🥹❤️

Alongside our Home Education group, they’ve been helping create a Halloween experience that’s fun, inclusive and suitable for children who might find traditional trick or treating overwhelming. 💚

🎟️ TRAIL SPACES ARE NOW OPEN TO BOOK!

🍬 £10 per child – complete the tricks, collect your treats, meet our animals and claim your prize!

🎃 Optional pumpkin picking and carving for an additional £5 – and you can feed the insides to our animals!

❤️ But there’s something even more important behind this event…

We’re a tiny, independent animal sanctuary with no external funding, and winter is one of our hardest times. Every single booking helps us keep our gates open, our animals fed and our community programmes running.

Our young people are putting so much love into creating this experience, and we’d absolutely love for you to come and see what they’ve achieved. 🥹
