Right. Contractually obliged hot weather post.

Yes it's warm.

Don't leave your dog in the car, even for a quick 5 minutes.

Hot pavements are hot. Walk early or late.

Water. Shade. Common sense. Especially for those shorter faced or thick coated breeds.

We know you've seen this post 37 times already. We'd still rather post it than admit another dog with heatstroke.

See you tomorrow for our usual programming. 🐶

We advise all dogs visiting the clinic should be on a lead.

Poppy interpreted this as a minimum requirement and arrived in a pram with a chauffeur.

Faolán came in to see us after his owners spotted a piece of string hanging from his bum. 🐱🧵

Thankfully, after a careful examination, we were able to remove the string without needing surgery, and Faolán is now back home feeling much more comfortable.

Our ACA Jodie has recently taken up gardening and is now fiercely protective of her home-grown vegetables. She's agreed to put her prized carrot on the line for whoever can guess closest to the length of string we removed from Faolán! 🥕😂

Drop your guesses in the comments below. Winner gets the carrot (subject to Jodie not changing her mind at the last minute).

As always, if you ever spot string, ribbon, thread or similar hanging from your pet's mouth or bottom, don't pull it. Give your vet a call for advice, as these can sometimes cause serious problems inside the gut.

Say hello to Lauren, the newest vet at Forestside! 👋

If you've been into the clinic recently, there's a good chance you've already met Lauren. She joined the team earlier this year and has quickly become a familiar face around the practice.

Lauren graduated from the University of Surrey with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Science and has always had a love for animals. Although there aren't many cows wandering through Forestside these days, they still hold a special place in her heart! 🐮 One of the things Lauren enjoys most about small animal practice is the variety of pets she gets to see each day, from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs and everything in between.

Outside of work, you'll find her playing hockey, spending time with friends and family, or cow spotting with her English Pointer Luna 🐶

Last year, thanks to your incredible support, we were named Veterinary Practice of the Year.

This year we're nominated again, and we'd love your vote.

From dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles and plenty of other critters, it's a privilege to look after so many fantastic pets from across Belfast and beyond.

If we've helped your pet over the years and you'd like to support our team, we'd be chuffed if you could take a minute to vote for us.

⚠️ HOLLYWOOF TRANSFORMATION AHEAD ⚠️

After years of dealing with recurrent irritation and UTIs, Selena the greyhound was getting a little fed up with her regular appearances on our appointment book.

The culprit? A very pronounced hooded v***a causing ongoing problems.

Enter our own cosmetic surgeon, currently auditioning for the next series of Nip/Tuck... ✂️😎

A vulvoplasty later, and Selena's transformation was complete. Swipe through for the full makeover journey:

📸 12 months later

Unlike reality TV, the goal wasn't turning heads at the dog park. The aim was to improve comfort and prevent those frustrating recurring infections.

The result? Twelve months on, no further clinical signs, no repeat UTIs, and one much happier greyhound. ❤️

We can't promise Hollywood contracts for our surgeons just yet, but Selena has no complaints!

Not your usual lost pet post.

A corn snake has been handed into us after being found in the Forestside area. Safe, well, and thankfully not discovered by someone sitting down on the toilet at 2am.

If you’re missing one this one, please give us a call. Proof of ownership will be required.
