Where did the time go?

Five years. Two very different-sized gorillas. One very special birthday!🎉

Our western lowland gorilla - Kofi, turned five yesterday. As you can tell, someone has been eating their greens! 💪🦍

Kofi is a Belfast Zoo native - born on 8th October 2021 to mother Kamili and father Gugas, the troop's silverback.

Kofi's arrival was particularly significant due to the collaborative breeding and conservation programme for western gorillas, which are critically endangered in the wild.

Happy Birthday Kofi! 🎂

👋Say hello to Kofi on your next visit!
