Chronic muscle tension or atrophy may exaggerate natural whorls or create ripples in the coat, particularly over areas like the shoulders, hips, and spine.
While these coat changes are usually harmless, they can be visual indicators of deeper structural or neurological issues, and should be interpreted alongside mobility, behavior, and comfort levels.
