AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY

Are you an organised, friendly and calm individual who thrives in a busy environment? Wangford Vets, an independent veterinary practice in Suffolk, is looking for a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our welcoming team.

This sweet boy is Goose

He came in to see Adrian today because of a sore lump on his bottom, and Adrian discovered a grass seed lodged there. It’s amazing how grass seeds get everywhere!

Bailey came into the practice a few weeks ago after becoming very unwell. He had an upset stomach, no energy, and had also become jaundiced. After being hospitalised and undergoing diagnostic tests, Bailey was diagnosed with a condition called IMHA.

IMHA is a serious condition in which the immune system starts attacking the body's own red blood cells. Without treatment, it can be life-threatening.

In total, Bailey stayed with us for five days, receiving round-the-clock care, two blood transfusions, and, of course, unlimited cuddles. Thankfully, he pulled through and is now back at home with his mum and sister, Harper, who apparently quite enjoyed having mum all to herself for a few days!

Bailey is still coming in for regular check-ups, but the vets are very pleased with his progress. The whole team adores him. As a familiar face at the practice due to his other health conditions, he has a special place in our hearts, and it's fair to say there were a few happy tears when he was finally well enough to go home. ❤️

Animal Nursing Assistant (Clinical & Administrative)

Full-Time | 43.5 Hours per Week

Wangford Veterinary Clinic is a busy, independent veterinary practice in Suffolk, and we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Animal Nursing Assistant to join our friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for animal care who is looking to gain hands-on experience within a veterinary environment and develop a long-term career in veterinary nursing.

About the Role
This is a varied hybrid role combining both clinical support and administrative responsibilities. Working closely with our veterinary surgeons, nurses, reception team and clients, you will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
This is a full-time position working 43.5 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 8:30am and 7:15pm, Monday to Friday. National Minimum Wage

Teddy was feeling a little worried whilst waking up after his procedure today. To help keep him calm Maisey gave him cuddles which he loved!

Beware of Microchip Scams

It’s been brought to our attention by a client who was targeted by scammers, claiming that their dog would become unregistered if their details weren’t renewed. They were demanding an immediate payment to keep it active.

Please be assured that pet microchips DO NOT expire.

Once your pet is registered on a legitimate database, their chip is valid for life.
Legitimate companies will never charge you an annual renewal fee. Scammers are using personalised details - including owner names and correct microchip numbers, to make these emails look authentic.

How to protect yourself:

• Do not click any links or provide payment details if you receive an unexpected renewal email, regardless of how plausible it might look.
• Check your pet's official registration status safely through a Defra-compliant database like Petlog, PETtrac or Identibase. You can use a unified lookup tool like Check a Chip to find which specific approved database holds a pets microchip record.

Your pet's safety and your peace of mind are our priorities. Please share this warning with other pet owners!
