Poor Coco 💔- photos a tad yuk - a lot is cream mixed with the fluid ..

A few days ago, Coco developed what looked like a few fly bites under her belly. We cleaned the area and applied cream, but within just two days it became swollen, started oozing fluid, and developed lots of sores and crusting. This shows how ever good you are cleaning or checking somtimes things escalate quicker than you can react - this happened so fast
Vet believes at this stage - it’s the fluid in the odema coming out causing the crust and oozing

We called the vet straight away. Blood tests have been taken, and Coco has started antibiotics alongside medicated creams.

The vet believes this could be a systemic reaction—something happening inside her body—so the original marks may not have been caused by fly bites after all.

I really thought summer sore when it was smaller as it presented like a fly irratstion

Thankfully, Coco is happy in herself and doesn’t seem bothered by it. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more. Please follow Coco’s journey for further updates. 🐴❤️

Burnout can creep up on you when you’re constantly caring for everyone and everything else. 🐴❤️

Running a busy yard means my mind rarely switches off—but I’m learning that taking time away isn’t selfish. A proper work-life balance is essential if I want to keep giving the horses, my family and the business the very best of me.

So, on my day off, I escaped to one of our beautiful local beaches—Southwold. 🌊 A little sea air, space to breathe and time to reset was exactly what I needed.

Sometimes you have to step away from your happy place to remember just how much you love it. ❤️

Okay, you lot were right… these £15 hay nets are brilliant! 🙌🐴

Thank you to everyone who recommended them — we’re completely converted. I was paying nearly three times as much before, so at £15 each, they’re an absolute no-brainer! 😳

Help needed! 📸🐴

My daughter Poppy is studying photography and has been using the horses as her very willing models for her homework!

She needs to submit just four photos this week, but choosing them is proving tricky… I’m going to post a few below, so please help her decide! 🤎

Which four would you choose?
Thank you will help us narrow it down a bit 🙂

When you’re sitting down relaxing… I’m checking your horse. 🐴

When you’re sleeping… I’m still thinking about your horse.

And when your horse isn’t on your mind… they’re on mine. ❤️

POV: Running a retirement livery for 40 horses means the responsibility never truly stops—but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

And just like that… summer is slipping away and another season is beginning 🍂🐴

Here at Back On Track, we’re already preparing to get more than 40 retired horses safely and comfortably through another winter.

Hay supplies, shelters, rugs, bedding, winter paddocks and endless checks—the work never stops, but keeping these beautiful old souls warm, fed and happy makes it all worthwhile. ❤️

Let’s hope Mother Nature is kind to us this year and it isn’t a cruel winter. 🤞🏼
