Something I have noticed over the years whilst running SafeCat UK is that sometimes the general public doesn't really understand just what it is they are buying.
lack of understanding of materials often results in people paying high prices for what are essentially lower-value, shorter-life materials.
The steel catio market seems to cause the most confusion, with a current customer of ours not realizing the difference between our steel catios from looking at a photo online to that of another UK supplier of steel-framed catios that aren't actually 100% solid steel and actually use soft pliable netting, polymesh/pvc, which is cable tied onto the frame.
It's a mistake that can be easily made should you not really understand material concepts or zoom in to look closely.
If you want a steel-framed catio, it's because you want the longevity and security of steel opposed to the natural decline and shorter life of timber, so if you're paying substantial costs you should be receiving substantial products......

The first and second photos show our solid steel handmade fully welded panels compared to other steel-framed catios available online and through other retail businesses; the difference in strength and quality is obvious, even to anyone who doesn't understand materials in general.

The third, fourth and fifth pictures are a typical example of a steel-framed catio available on the market that doesn't have solid steel weld mesh welded onto each panel, instead a flexible netting is fixed onto the frames,this can potentially be easily cut, and does not offer the same amount of strength or security as a handmade, professionally made 100% solid steel product,but is still sold under the description of a steel catio.
