Had a busy month for a number of reasons! Had some regular visits and quite a few meet and greets which was lovely…meeting all of you and your wonderful pets is always great 😊 Huge thank you to all of you for choosing me I feel truly honoured and very appreciative to be the one to look after your precious beings 🥰

🌡️🐾 HOT WEATHER WARNING FOR PET OWNERS 🐾🌡️

We have received several reports of dogs being taken to the beach during the day in this current heatwave. 🥵 Please remember - if it feels hot to you, it’s even hotter for your pets.
Dogs can quickly suffer from heatstroke, burnt paw pads, dehydration, and breathing difficulties in warm weather. Flat-faced breeds, older pets, puppies, and overweight animals are especially at risk but heatstroke can and will affect all animals.

☀️ Heatwave safety advice for ALL pet owners:

🐕 Walk dogs early morning and late evening
🔥 Avoid hot pavements/sand/astro turf — place the back of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws
💧 Ensure constant access to fresh, cool water
🏠 Keep pets in shaded, well-ventilated areas
🚫 Never leave any animal in a parked car - even for a few minutes or even with the windows open
🧊 Use cooling mats, damp towels or paddling pools
🐇 Small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens also need shade, clean fresh water, and plenty of ventilation.
🥒 Frozen treats can help cool pets and provide enrichment
🦔 Check wildlife have access to water

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Collapse

If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet somewhere cool, offer small amounts of water, and contact your vet immediately.

Common saying a I know but a true one “No dog ever died from missing a walk” keep them in keep them cool keep them safe…or walk them late or earlier…I was truly astonished at the number of dogs I saw out yesterday in this baking sun 🐾🐾☀️ ❌
