Keeping a dogs nails trimmed isn't only for aesthetics, the length of the nail can affect their health and mobility.
With properly maintained nails the dogs paw rests fully on the ground, allowing a natural step, even weight distribution and correct joint alignment. This helps to prevent joint pain, premature joint wear and inflammation.
Overgrown nails, on the other hand, can push the toes upward and backwards which in turn alters the foot posture, this creates extra stress on the joints which can lead to chronic pain, tendon problems, and difficulty walking. Over time this incorrect foot posture can cause problems in the knees, elbows and even the spine.
Keeping your dogs on a regular grooming and nail trimming schedule is an essential part of canine care.

Our walk-in nail service runs from Monday-Friday 430pm-5pm.
Prices start from £6.50

We are trying our best to keep the salon as cool as we can...but it may not be possible for safety reasons to continue if the temp stays at a consistent 28°.
We may need to cancel your appointment at short notice for the safety of our dogs and staff, please be kind and patient if that is the case - we promise we will reschedule!

Many thanks

🌾 Grass Seeds: Tiny but Dangerous! 🐾

This grass seed was removed from a dog's coat before it had the chance to cause serious harm. It may look harmless, but these tiny seeds can become a veterinary emergency if left unnoticed.

Grass seeds are designed to travel in one direction. Once they attach to your dog's coat, they can work their way into the skin, ears, eyes, nose, paws and even between the toes. They can cause painful abscesses, infections and, in some cases, require surgery to remove.

As professional groomers, we regularly find grass seeds hidden deep within coats—particularly on hairy feet, ears, armpits, feathering and around the groin. While we always do our best to spot them during grooming, dogs can pick them up on even the shortest walk, so daily checks at home are essential.

After every walk, take a few minutes to check:
• Between the toes and paw pads
• Inside and around the ears
• Around the eyes
• Under the armpits
• Around the groin and tail
• In any long or feathery coat

If your dog suddenly starts licking a paw excessively, shaking their head, sneezing repeatedly, squinting, or develops a swelling after a walk, don't ignore it. Seek veterinary advice as soon as possible.

Regular grooming not only keeps your dog looking their best, but also helps us identify hidden hazards like grass seeds before they become a much bigger problem.

Stay safe this summer, and remember—a two-minute check after every walk could save your dog from a great deal of pain.
