Steve sounds like he has definitely made himself at home with his new family 🐾

As soon as Steve arrived home, he rushed out of his carrier and hasn’t stopped since!

He’s loving his new-found freedom, spending plenty of time outdoors through his cat flap before coming back in to spread himself out across the bed 🛏️💤

But Steve is still every bit the cheeky boy as he’s even managed to kidnap a cat toy! Nobody knows where it came from or where it belongs, so naturally, it’s been given a new name: Freddie Purrcury! 🎸🐱

It sounds like Steve is settling in to his new home like the rockstar he is.

We are proud to confirm that RSPCA Brent Knoll Animal Centre has merged with Bath Cats and Dogs Home, helping to secure the future of vital animal welfare services for north Somerset and the wider southwest region.

For more than 20 years, Brent Knoll has provided life-changing care for vulnerable animals, supporting pets rescued by the RSPCA as well as those whose owners are facing hardship. We could not stand by and risk seeing that work come to an end.

Today is Dog Walker Appreciation Day 🐾

A very big thank you to the wonderful people who give their time to walk the dogs in our care 💙

Every walk means exercise, enrichment, new smells, new experiences and, perhaps most importantly, time spent with a kind human.

For some of our rescue dogs, that regular walk can make all the difference.

To everyone who grabs a lead and heads out with one of our dogs: thank you for helping tails wag! 🐶

💌A little update from Lychee’s forever family

We were so happy to receive these sweet photos and hear how she is settling into life at home. 🏡

Her new family told us:

“She loves taking naps on the sofa and sleeping in our bed”

Lychee has also been enjoying zoomies in the garden, playing fetch and exploring the world on her first little walks. She’s doing brilliantly with her toilet training and has even already learnt “roll over”! ⭐🐶

Like lots of dogs settling into a brand-new environment, some unfamiliar noises are still a little spooky but Lychee knows exactly where to go for reassurance, often running over for a cuddle or asking her new family to hold her paw🐾

We absolutely love receiving updates like this and seeing our dogs so happy and content in their forever homes 💙

🐾🎉 100 dogs. 100 new beginnings. 100 reasons to celebrate. 🎉🐾

This International Dog Day, we’re celebrating something extra special… 100 dogs have found loving homes so far in 2026! 💙🏡

From nervous first meetings and wagging tails to sofa snoozes, muddy adventures and becoming part of the family, every single one of these dogs has started an exciting new chapter.

We couldn’t be happier for them all, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has helped make these happy endings possible.

Kittens are busy discovering the world. Older cats already know who they are 🐾

Kittens can sometimes do better in pairs. Having another kitten around can give them company, help them continue developing their social skills and make the transition into a new home a little easier. We can also see which kittens have formed a special bond, and some which are confident enough to thrive without a partner in chaos.

Then there are our cats aged 8+ who can sometimes be overlooked simply because of their age.

An example of this is our independent lady, Martini. She is 12 but certainly doesn’t let her age define her, and she has so much of her own personality and specialness to offer the right person.

Older cats can bring a lovely sense of calm and companionship to a home. They still have plenty of playfulness too. Martini can still pounce like a ninja when she wants to! 🐈

There’s something special about giving an older cat the chance to settle into a home and, in their own time, decide that you’re their person. Watching that trust grow can be incredibly rewarding.

So, when you’re filling in the rehoming form, please don’t overlook the pair of kittens and 8+ age brackets. There are some wonderful cats waiting there, each with their own personality, quirks and story to share.

🐾 We’ve had a lovely update from Pingu’s adopter, and it sounds like this sweet girl is settling into her new home wonderfully!

Pingu was a little nervous when she first arrived, particularly around her adopter’s husband and son, but it didn’t take her long to find her confidence. She’s now happily exploring the house and working out which are her favourite spots.

Although she still uses her settling-in room as her safe base, Pingu clearly prefers to be wherever her family are. Whether she’s playing with them or simply sleeping nearby, she loves being part of the action 🥰

She’s eating and drinking well, has had no problems with her litter trays and, of course, is a big fan of Dreamies! 😻

Pingu is also very interested in the outside world and loves watching through the windows and patio doors. She’s even discovered that she has a rather impressive talent for catching flies! 🪰😂

It’s wonderful to hear how much progress she has already made and how quickly she is becoming comfortable in her new home 💙

A huge thank you to Pingu’s adopter for sending us this update and giving her the time, patience and love she needed to settle in.
