Oscar and his family recently did a 1 week intensive with me in Bath, to help tackle some behaviour challenges, including reacting to dogs being high up on their list of things to work on.
I'm never that good at getting training footage during sessions as I'm mainly focused on the dog and client, meaning I never get a good before and after! However, here's a brief rundown of what we covered, along with a vid sent over after the intensive
We started with an assessment around Dennis, a stooge, stuffy dog. This gives me a chance to see the dog's thresholds, general behaviours and the owners confidence levels and handling techniques before moving on. Then we brought Nova into the mix and worked in our private field, to make sure we built the skills up enough to take into the real world!
Once Oscar and his team were feeling more comfortable with the training, we started training in some lovely spots in and around Bath to proof those skills, we even managed a quick drink in the local pub b**r garden with him, still vigilant, but more settled than usual. A massive win!
Couldn't have been more proud of Oscar's team when they sent me this video, with the message attached
"I took Oscar for a woodland walk with my cousins dog Jenson. After the woodland walk (where Oscar also met other dogs) and loved his time, we went back to my cousins house and let Oscar and Jenson spend time in the garden. My intro with Jenson went well, I would not have had the confidence to do this without Adam's guidance and support this week. A big thank you from me!!
