A great start for our new puppy cohort this evening!

It was lovely to welcome our newest pups and their pawrents to Pup Pups Dog Training Academy for the start of their training journey.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be building confidence, developing essential life skills and helping our puppies learn how to navigate the world calmly and positively.

It’s about so much more than basic obedience. We’re laying the foundations for happy, confident dogs and strong relationships between dogs and their humans.

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress over the coming weeks!

What a great evening at last night’s INSPIRE Business Awards Finalist Evening!

It was fantastic to meet the other finalists, hear more about their businesses and share the experience with so many brilliant local business owners.

I also found out just how competitive the awards are, with a high number of nominations whittled down to just four finalists in the New Business of the Year category. To be one of those four is a real achievement in itself!

The main event takes place in November, when the winners of each category will be announced. Until then, it’s a case of keeping everything crossed for Pup Pups Dog Training Academy!

A big thank you to the INSPIRE Business Awards team for putting on such a great evening. Whatever happens in November, it’s brilliant to see the hard work that goes into building Pup Pups being recognised.

Tonight, it’s time to swap the dog training gear for something a little smarter!

A rare occasion where I’m dressing up as we head to the INSPIRE Business Awards Finalist Evening at Audleys Wood Hotel.

It’s fantastic to have Pup Pups Dog Training Academy recognised as a finalist for New Business of the Year. Whatever the outcome, it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication and progress that have gone into building the business.

Here’s to a great evening and celebrating some fantastic local businesses!

HEEL WORKSHOP | Focus. Connection. Engagement. Progress.

A brilliant evening at tonight’s Heel Workshop!

Our participants worked hard on improving focus, building engagement and strengthening the connection between dog and handler. It was great to see everyone putting the work in and making progress throughout the session.

Heel work is about so much more than walking neatly by your side. It’s about teaching your dog to check in with you, stay engaged and work with you, even when distractions are present.

Well done to everyone who took part tonight. Your hard work is paying off!

Today we welcomed Brodhie back to Pup Pups for another one-to-one session!

Our focus was on improving his emergency stop and impulse control; two important skills that help dogs make better choices and respond reliably, even when distractions are present.

Brodhie is a fast learner, and it’s great to see him building on his training. We’re looking forward to seeing his continued progress!

Bringing a puppy into your family is exciting, but helping them grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog takes more than simply meeting lots of people and dogs.

At Pup Pups Dog Training Academy, Basingstoke Puppy Club provides a safe, supportive environment where puppies can explore, build confidence and learn about the world at their own pace.

Our sessions focus on:
Building confidence – encouraging puppies to explore new experiences at a pace that suits them.
Positive socialisation – learning to feel comfortable around other dogs without the pressure to interact.
Developing independence – giving puppies opportunities to explore and make positive choices.
Creating positive experiences – helping puppies develop into calmer, more confident adult dogs.

Luna smashing it at Scent Sport Rural!

Freya had a fantastic time on our Scent Sport Rural course, showing off her scenting skills and brilliant teamwork with her mum.

She was able to locate the hidden human, recall back to her mum, and then lead her mum straight to where the human was hiding!

Scent Sport Rural is all about using a dog's natural scenting abilities, building confidence and strengthening the bond between dog and handler. Luna demonstrated exactly what it's all about!

Well done, a brilliant example of teamwork.

Today, our fantastic pups and their pawrents completed their Puppy Foundation course, and what a journey it has been!

From building engagement and confidence to learning new skills and navigating the world around them, every puppy has taken important steps towards becoming a well-rounded, confident companion.

A big well done to all our pawrents for putting in the time, patience and consistency to help your puppies succeed. Remember, training doesn’t stop here; keep practising, keep rewarding those good choices and keep building that bond!

A fantastic end to our Confident Canine course!

What a brilliant few weeks these dogs and their pawrents have had!

We’ve seen a huge improvement in engagement, better behaviour around other dogs and, most importantly, the ability for everyone to come together and remain calm and neutral around one another.

That’s what Confident Canine is all about; building confidence, developing focus and teaching dogs that they don’t need to interact with every dog they see. Sometimes, simply being able to share the same space calmly is a massive achievement!

A big well done to all our dogs and their pawrents. Your hard work, patience and consistency have really paid off, and you should be proud of how far you’ve come.

Burt’s mission: Find Dad!

Burt had an important job on our Scent Sport Rural Course: using his nose to track down his dad!

Scent Sport is a fantastic way to let dogs use their natural scenting abilities, build confidence and strengthen the bond with their humans. Watching Burt work through the search and focus on finding his person is what makes this sport so rewarding.

It’s not just about the find; it’s about the teamwork, communication and the journey along the way.
