🎉 THREE YEARS OF HUDSON’S HAMPSHIRE HOUNDS!

Today marks three years since I officially opened Hudson’s Hampshire Hounds, and honestly, I can’t quite believe how far we’ve come.

When I look back at where I started three years ago compared to where we are now, I feel incredibly proud. We have pretty full books, have had and have an amazing team, the most incredible dogs and owners, and a business that has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined it would.

I can definitely say that this year has been the toughest when it comes to learning curves, challenges and, of course, the weather! There have definitely been times where I’ve found things really hard, but that’s all part of running a business. You learn to problem solve, think on your feet and find a way forward, and I feel like I’ve massively improved those skills this year.

I am so grateful to every dog and owner who has supported Hudson’s Hampshire Hounds over the past three years. Whether you’re still with us now or were part of our journey in the past, you’ve all played a part in helping the business get to where it is today. I genuinely can’t imagine my life without dogs now. I know that whatever the future holds, I will always work with dogs. My heart has never been happier doing anything else.

So today, I’m celebrating three years of Hudson’s Hampshire Hounds, how far we’ve come, everything we’ve learnt and everyone who has been part of the journey.

So here’s a little selection of some of my favourite pics throughout the years.

We don’t just walk dogs… we pet sit too

If you’re going away, your pets don’t have to. Keeping them at home means they can stick to their usual routine, sleep in their own bed, and stay somewhere they know and love.

Pet sitting is a great option for pets who get stressed in kennels or just feel more comfortable in their own space. We make sure they’re fed, walked, played with, and given lots of fuss while you’re away, and we’ll keep you updated with photos too! ❤️

This handsome lad is a pretty special one. Before joining us, he’d been asked to leave a few group settings because he found them all a bit too much. He’d get over-aroused, struggle to regulate himself, and group walks just weren’t enjoyable for him. His owners have spent the last year putting in so much hard work with their trainer, and when they came to us, we all agreed that throwing him straight into a group wasn’t the right thing to do. We took things slowly instead. He started on lead, we carefully chose which dogs he’d walk with, kept everything calm and gradually built his confidence. As he’s shown us he can cope, we’ve slowly given him more freedom. That’s how we believe group walks should be done. Every dog is different, and not every dog is ready to walk in a group from day one. We’d much rather take our time and set a dog up for success than rush the process. Seeing him now, happily walking alongside his friends, is exactly why we do what we do. We’re so proud of him, but also of his owners, whose patience, consistency and commitment have made this possible. ❤️

Day 2 of the heatwave and the drop-ins are still in full swing!

A little photo dump from both mine and Nicola’s visits today. It’s been another hot one, so we’re continuing to swap walks for drop-ins to make sure all of our pups are staying safe, cool, and happy.

Today’s visits have been filled with enrichment games, sniffing activities, training, fresh water top-ups, garden toilet breaks, plenty of shade, and, of course, lots of fuss and cuddles.

Thank you to all of our amazing owners for supporting this decision. We know many dogs would love to get out for a walk, but their safety will always come first. These temperatures just aren’t worth the risk.

Stay cool, look after yourselves and your four-legged family members, and enjoy some more of the gorgeous faces from today! 🐶

I think the UK heating got switched on this week! 🥵 But I don’t think these guys minded!

Here are a few lovely snaps from our drop-ins, to help keep everyone safe in the heat, I’ve swapped all of my walks when the temperature is above 23 degrees to drop-ins, making sure every dog is comfortable, cared for, and staying cool.

Your dogs’ safety will always be my top priority, even if it means halving my income. We’ve been enjoying enrichment games, plenty of sniffing activities, a little training, and of course lots of cuddles!

Please stay safe out there, and remember: no dog has ever died from missing a walk, but they can become seriously ill from exercising in extreme heat.
