At PK9 scent club on Saturday working on a peaceful indication on kong hidden in a variety of items and inaccessible places, including the floor (an often forgotten search area). Lots of sniffing was done, I suspect they all slept well all afternoon.

(I know that GSDs don't generally need coats - Pixie usually only wears a coat when she's not working or inbetween searches, to keep her hips protected. This was North Wales with Trailing K9s, it was November, it was brassic, this was necessary 😂. And, she's a style icon!

The UKSS scent gang practiced the Trail-ID component on Saturday.
Super fun testing those noses in scent discrimination in an area of high contamination. Match to sample super powers on displaced starts, split trails, split starts, decoy trails, cross tracks, old v new, trailing and Track-Trailing - you name it, we threw it at them and they all aced it in leaps and bounds 🤩

It was too wet at the military woods on Wednesday for human hiding , but it was perfect for Track-Trailing (that was the excuse anyway 😆). Windy gusts across the pitches, wet under paw with lots of distracting scents (and squirrels 🐿). It was a pawsome session, loads of fun 😁

"Kong-fidence" building exercises for handlers and dogs at the PK9 UKSS Saturday Scent Club with structured on equipment searches and free search in a mess of stuff. Testing independence, accuracy, and indication behaviour and having lots of fun (we did a little catnip retrieve too, but I somehow managed not to capture that 😆)
