Congratulations to Susan Keefe on her appointment as a Mars Veterinary Health Europe Subject Matter Expert (SME)!
We are delighted to share that our fabulous Lead Oncology RVN, Susan Keefe, has been appointed as the Oncology Nurse Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Mars Veterinary Health Europe.
This highly respected position is open to associates from across the Linnaeus network, with SMEs playing a vital role in shaping clinical guidance, influencing best practice, championing patient safety, and ensuring the clinical voice is represented across both referral and primary care settings.
Susan's selection is a testament to her exceptional passion, knowledge, and commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care.
Among her many achievements, Susan has:
- Assisted in successfully establishing the SFVS oncology service in our state-of-the-art, purpose built facility, ensuring that patient care and associate wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do.
- Introduced the Oncology Nurse and Patient Care Assistant Training Programmes at Southfields Veterinary Specialists, resulting in Susan being shortlisted for a Linnaeus Achievement Award in 2022.
- Established and developed our highly successful Oncology Coffee Mornings in 2024, creating a supportive environment where owners can better understand their pet's treatment journey while accessing both professional guidance and peer support.
- Presented at Linnaeus Oncology Away Days, sharing knowledge and best practice with colleagues across the group.
- Represented Southfields and Linnaeus at London Vet Show, presenting on the Oncology Service.
- Been nominated for BVNA Veterinary Nurse of the Year 2025.
Alongside her Lead Oncology RVN role, Susan's new SME appointment will allow her to contribute her expertise on clinical guidance, policies, products, equipment, and patient care initiatives, helping to shape and enhance standards across the wider profession.
