For International Dog Day, my sister arranged for Mr Gussy and me to pay a visit to the residents at St Mary’s Riverside Care Home. 🐾

We had such a lovely afternoon meeting everyone, giving the residents plenty of opportunity to have some fuss with Gus, and hearing all the wonderful stories about the dogs they’ve loved and owned over the years.

It was so heartwarming to see the smiles Gus brought to everyone’s faces. He certainly enjoyed all the attention too! 🐶

And luckily, there was only one custard cream casualty during the visit…

Turns out I was the one who got the swimming lesson... 🐶💦

Mr Gussy & Percy had their first visit to Dunkin' Doggies in Hull today. They were a little unsure at first, so I ended up spending more time in the pool than they did!

It was such a lovely way to build their confidence and try something new. The team at Dunkin Doggies were amazing, and it's a brilliant place if you're looking for a fun activity to enjoy with your dog.

We'll definitely be back... and with any luck, next time they'll do more swimming than me! 🐾

The Petplan Veterinary Awards are such an important opportunity to recognise the people within the veterinary profession who dedicate their lives to caring for animals 🐾

Ever since I was little, I’ve been completely animal-obsessed — the child who stopped to greet every dog and tried to rescue any pet possible. My dad even befriended neighbours just so I could walk their dogs, and family friends would let me “borrow” their pets for the weekend 🐕💙 That love only grew, and it led me exactly where I’m meant to be: caring for animals as a veterinary nurse.
