Skye is a gorgeous Staffie, she is extremely anxious and reactive, due to her past experiences. My deep understanding of dog behaviour and the impact past experience has on this, enabled me to get her comfortable in the salon environment. I was then able to ... without subjecting her to unnecessary stress. This resulted in a happy and more comfortable dog and very satisfied owner.

This is Millie, from Mystic Pets. Back with another story.
Duke, the wonderful ‘tap dancing’ Golden Retriever. This was a very short first salon visit for a nail clip, and I quickly worked out that he hates having his feet touched. So, he tap danced throughout his visit. We managed to clip most of his nails, but had to leave a few as he needed a little more time to get used to being handled in this way. Gorgeous boy Duke, come again soon and I’ll soon help you to see the salon as a good place to be.

Barklie is a young, lively Hungarian Vizsla who came to the salon looking for a freshen up after a muddy outdoor dog-training session. He’d never been to a salon before and was understandably anxious when his owner, who he clearly has a very strong bond with, left him with me. He had a much-needed bath, ear clean and nail clip – a general spruce up! He didn’t much like the dryer while on the table, but was much happier when being dried on the floor. What a beautiful boy! A pleasure to meet you, Barklie.

One of my first clients was Buddy, a gorgeous Border Terrier. He’s quite an elderly gentleman, aged 13. He came in for a much-needed haircut and tidy up. He’d been to a salon before, just not for a while. He quickly became calm and more relaxed after I spent some time giving him attention and, of course, treats! While looking over the Buddy I noted that he had some lumps and bumps that inevitably come with age. With the love and care our elderly clients need, Buddy was turned into a handsome gent. Thanks for coming to see me Buddy and I look forward to grooming you again.
