🐾❤️ HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! ❤️🐾

Today is all about celebrating the most incredible creatures in the world — DOGS! 🐶

I want to take this opportunity to celebrate every single one of my wonderful clients, past and present. Every dog I have had the privilege of meeting, walking, caring for, training, pet sitting and simply spending time with has left a little paw print on my heart. 🐾

I honestly feel incredibly lucky that I get to spend my days surrounded by dogs. What started as work has become so much more than that. Dogs are my life. ❤️

They have given me companionship, laughter, comfort, unconditional love and, at some of the hardest points in my own lifetime, they have saved me in ways I could never properly put into words.

So being able to spend my days caring for them, keeping them safe, making sure they have fun, helping them learn and simply giving them the best adventures I possibly can feels incredibly special to me.

Every wagging tail, excited face, muddy paw, goofy moment and cuddle reminds me just how lucky I am to do what I do. 🥹🐾

I genuinely believe dogs give us far more than we could ever give them, and I will spend my days trying to repay the favour by giving every dog I care for the love, patience, respect, safety and happiness they deserve.

To all my current clients, my past clients and every dog who has ever crossed my path — thank you for trusting me with your precious family members and for allowing me to be part of their lives. ❤️

Here’s to the dogs who make our lives brighter, our homes happier and our hearts fuller.

Happy National Dog Day to every single one of them! 🐶❤️🐾

Why Some of My Friendly Dogs Stay On Lead 🐾

I often get asked why some of the lovely, friendly dogs I walk stay on lead when they’re out with me. The simple answer is — there are lots of reasons! ❤️

Not every dog I walk has 100% recall, and that’s absolutely okay. Some dogs are still learning and building their confidence, and keeping them on lead allows me to keep them safe while we work on those skills.

🐾 Some dogs are in training and their owners have given me specific things they would like us to work on. This might mean teaching them not to greet every dog or person they come across, learning to focus on me, or simply practising calm behaviour around distractions.

🐾 Some are working on basic obedience, so their walks are also an opportunity to reinforce the skills they are learning.

🐾 Sometimes it’s simply about the route. Woodland walks, cliff-top walks and other areas can have additional safety risks, so even a dog with fantastic recall may stay on lead in certain places.

🐾 And sometimes, it’s just the safest choice. Being friendly doesn’t automatically mean a dog should be allowed to approach every dog or person we meet. I want every dog in my care to have a safe, enjoyable and stress-free walk.

Ultimately, there are many reasons why I may choose to keep a friendly dog on lead — but their safety will always be my number one priority. 🐶❤️

I also believe every dog deserves clear guidance and consistency. Whether we’re working on training, practising good manners, enjoying a peaceful walk or simply having lots of fun, I want to make sure we’re getting the absolute most out of our time together.

Your dogs deserve the very best service I can offer, and that means making decisions based on THEIR individual needs — not simply letting them off lead because they’re friendly. 🐾

🐾 WHY I ONLY WALK IN GROUPS OF 4 OR LESS 🐾

You may wonder why I choose to keep my group walks to a maximum of 4 dogs when some dog walkers take 6, 8 or even more.

The simple answer is: there is only one me, and I only have one set of hands. ❤️

Could I take 6 dogs out together? Of course I could. But for me, it isn’t about how many dogs I can fit into one walk — it’s about making sure every single dog is safe, happy and genuinely enjoying their adventure.

I take the time to carefully match dogs based on their size, personality, energy levels, confidence and temperament. Not every dog will thrive in the same group, and I would much rather spend the time making the right choices than simply putting a large mixed pack together.

A smaller, carefully matched group means I can:
🐶 Keep a much closer eye on everyone
🐶 React quickly if something unexpected happens
🐶 Create a calmer, more enjoyable pack environment
🐶 Make sure dogs aren’t overwhelmed by a large group
🐶 Match personalities and play styles more carefully
🐶 Give each dog the attention they deserve

Yes, I could take 6 dogs on a walk with completely different sizes, abilities and temperaments and call it a “pack walk”.

But that’s not how I want to run my business.

Your dog isn’t a number on a lead, and I don’t want them to simply be one of many.

I want them to have a safe, enjoyable and stress-free walk, surrounded by dogs they are comfortable with, while knowing I can give them the attention they need. ❤️

For me, quality will always come before quantity.

Because at the end of the day, I would rather take fewer dogs and know I’ve made the right choices for them than take more dogs just because I can. 🐾❤️

Their safety, happiness and wellbeing will always come first at Tash’s Tails & Trails

🐾 WHY I OFFER SOLO DOG WALKS 🐾

I believe every dog deserves the chance to have an adventure — regardless of whether they’re nervous, reactive, anxious, easily overwhelmed, or simply prefer human company. ❤️🐶

Unlike some dog walking services, I don’t only offer group walks. I offer one-to-one solo walks, giving your dog an experience that is completely tailored to their individual needs, personality and comfort level.

Some dogs thrive in a group, while others are much happier exploring the world with just their human. And that’s absolutely okay! 🥰

A solo walk means your dog gets my undivided attention, with their safety, happiness and wellbeing always coming first. Whether they want to sniff every blade of grass, explore somewhere new, work on their confidence or simply enjoy some peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle — their walk is about them. 🐾🌿

Because every dog deserves to have fun, enjoy an adventure and feel safe while doing it. ❤️

Your dog’s needs come first — always. 🐕💕
