🎆🐾 Fireworks season is nearly here! 🐾🎆

Whilst we might enjoy the celebrations, fireworks, parties and visiting family can be stressful for our pets!

💜 As a proud Pet Remedy affiliate, we’re encouraging owners to start preparing now to help keep their pets calm and comfortable throughout party season.

🐾 Create a cosy, quiet space to retreat to.

🐾 Walk dogs before dark and keep cats indoors.

🐾 Close curtains and play music to muffle fireworks.

🐾 Give pets a break from busy family gatherings.

🌟 A big paws up to Golden Coast Holiday Park in Woolacombe for choosing a drone display instead of traditional fireworks! 👏💙

If your pet struggles with noise or anxiety, please get in touch. We’re always happy to help!

Look at this gorgeous birthday card! 🥹

Bert and Norman’s very talented owner hand-painted this special card for our 1st birthday, featuring the boys themselves in their party hats! 😍 We absolutely love it and it’s definitely one for the Tarka Vets keepsake box.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful gift 💙

You can see more of her lovely artwork over on Facebook at Kimmy B Art 🎨🐾

And of course, Bert and Norman had to pose with their masterpiece! 😂🥳

Next Tuesday marks a whole year since we opened the doors at Tarka Vets! 🥳🐾

Over the past year our team has grown alongside our lovely client base, and we’re so grateful for all the support we’ve received. 💙

To say thank you, we’re holding an open day on Sunday 11th October, 10am to 2pm. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re already part of the Tarka family, thinking about joining us, or another local independent business wanting to pop in and say hello!

There’ll be treats and refreshments for both humans and furry friends 🥂🐶🐱

We’ll also be doing a few practice tours at 11am, 12pm and 1pm for anyone who fancies a peek behind the scenes.

Pop along and celebrate our first birthday with us! 🎈💙

This gorgeous, fluffy chap came in to see us for a procedure a few days ago and he brought his best buddy, Bean, along for the day too! 🐰💕

If your rabbit needs to visit us for a routine check-up or procedure, we recommend bringing their bonded friend along too, whenever possible. Having their familiar companion by their side can be really comforting and beneficial, helping to:

🐰 Reduce stress before and after their procedure
🥬 Encourage both rabbits to keep eating
💕 Reduce the risk of their companion rejecting them when they return home

Bean and Olive both coped incredibly well during their day with us, and we were so happy to hear that Olive is now back to his happy, hoppy self! 🥰

We always love seeing those little rabbit friendships in action. 💕🐇

This Sunday, Marina, Freya and Sophie, along with Marina’s husband Rob, are running the Barnstaple Half Marathon in support of the Children’s Hospice.

If you can donate, amazing, if you’re around on Sunday, give them a cheer, or if not just give them a like to wish them luck 👍💙

Good luck guys!! You’ve got this 💪
