🐾❤️ VENUS & JJ ARE LOOKING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOMES ❤️🐾
I'm helping to find the right homes for these two gorgeous dogs, Venus and JJ. They are currently living together, are very close and absolutely love playing together, but they have quite different personalities and needs.
I want to be completely transparent about both dogs because finding the right home is far more important than simply finding them a home.
🌸 VENUS – 3 YEARS OLD
Venus is a beautiful Rottweiler × Ridgeback × Mastiff × Lurcher × Saluki × Collie.
Venus has had quite a sheltered life socially and currently only really knows and trusts three people, so she is naturally very wary of strangers. She can lunge towards unfamiliar people and other dogs and can initially come across as intimidating. She has never bitten anyone, but she needs someone experienced and sensible who won't rush her and understands that her trust has to be earned.
And apparently, once you've earned it, you've got it. ❤️
With the people she loves, Venus is incredibly affectionate, sassy and completely devoted. She loves cuddles, scratches, playing with balls and sleeping on the bed with her owner. She does gently mouth occasionally when playing, but this isn't constant and she is gentle with it.
Venus doesn't mix well with unfamiliar dogs and is kept on lead when out as her recall isn't reliable. She is also very reactive towards cats, so a pet-free home would be needed.
She hasn't really had experience around young children — the youngest child in her household was 15 when Venus arrived — so we feel an adult-only home would be the most appropriate choice for her.
Venus also isn't keen on travelling. She gets car sick and can plant herself firmly when she realises she's being asked to get into the car, so this is something a new owner would need to work on gently.
She has never been crate-trained and currently sleeps on her owner's bed, although there's no reason new routines couldn't gradually be introduced.
Venus is not spayed, is fit and healthy and currently eats a raw diet.
🏡 Venus's ideal home: An experienced, patient adult owner with no other pets who isn't expecting an instant relationship. Give this girl time, treats, patience and kindness and, once she decides you're her person, it sounds as though you'll have an incredibly loving and devoted companion.
💙 JJ – 8 MONTHS OLD
JJ is still very much a puppy and is a Rottweiler × Ridgeback × Mastiff × Lurcher × Saluki × Staffy.
He is a lovely, playful youngster who generally has a very placid, chilled-out nature. He likes people, loves to play and enjoys his walks.
He hasn't had a huge amount of experience around children, so appropriate introductions and supervision would obviously be important, particularly given the size he may eventually become.
JJ can jump up a little when excited, but that's something that can be worked on with training. He has always been relaxed when out walking and hasn't shown the concerning behaviours that Venus can display around other dogs or people.
JJ is currently always walked on lead and hasn't yet learnt reliable recall, so his new family will need to continue his training. At only eight months old, he's still learning about the world and will need somebody prepared to put the time into his training and help him grow into a well-mannered adult.
He and Venus are extremely close and play very happily together. ❤️
🏡 JJ's ideal home: Someone looking for a young, playful but generally placid dog who understands that they're taking on a puppy and is willing to continue his training, socialisation and recall work.

These dogs are being rehomed through no fault of their own, and we're not looking for the quickest solution. We want the right people and the right homes.
In particular, anyone interested in Venus needs to have carefully read and understood everything above. She is an incredibly loving dog with the people she trusts, but she isn't suitable for every household and we don't want to put her — or a new owner — in a situation that isn't right.
