Stop the press πŸ‘€

We are very pleased to announce that Bertie has been reserved, and will soon be going to his new home! 🏑

He's truly hit the jackpot: a loving, patient, calm family; with a wonderful home where Bertie can settle and try out all the chairs and comfy spots. πŸŽ°πŸ’Ί

He's come such a long way since he came into our care. From anxious street boy, to a much steadier, sleepy, playful boy. He will keep shining as he moves forward to be with his new forever family. 🌞

Thank you for all your support, funding, likes, and shares. A big thank you too to his street feeders who cared for him too. We couldn't have helped him without you. πŸ’•

Good job, Bertie! πŸˆπŸŽ–

We have helped rescue this mum cat and her three beautiful kittens this weekend. The kittens were stashed by mum in a gentleman's shed and I had to squeeze into the small space to get these tiny little babies. They lodged with me overnight and mum was trapped this morning πŸ˜€. Luckily, another rescue Special paws cat rescue were able to offer them a space ❀️. We hadn't heard of this rescue and it wouldn't have been possible without TLC trapping lost cats putting us in touch. When rescues work together it only benefits the cats 😻. This mum has had several litters over the years but now she can rest knowing she won't need to worry about keeping more babies alive!

LET’S FIND BERTIE HIS FOREVER HOME! 🏠🐈

(Please share and ask people to share!)

* Male β™‚
* 3-4 years old πŸŽ‚
* Best to live as an only cat, but may enjoy the company of a younger, friendly cat. 🐱
* Will need an experienced owner, a calm home, with someone who is home a fair bit. 🏑
*Bertie will need access to a garden away from any main roads. 🌳
*Bertie cannot live with children, dogs, or in very complex multi-pet households. ❌
*Neutered, chipped, up to date on flea and worm treatments. πŸ›

Bertie is excellent company, an explorer (dead nosy), a fan of head bops and slow blinks, a comedy timing genius, incredibly cute when sleeping (maximum cuteness), an occasional lap cat (which will increase over time), a slow sleek walker, and a hilarious uncoordinated runner, and a big fan of his catnip toy crabs. Also: a chicken thief! πŸ’–

Bertie sadly found himself living on the streets for 2 years when his elderly owner died. πŸ’”

Thanks to a lovely community of local cat lovers, he was helped with flea and worm treatments, and regular meals. However, he was very sad and traumatised after losing his family and living on the scary streets, and he was unsettled and anxious. 😿

He is feeling much steadier in his foster home, but is occasionally anxious and overstimulated. His new owners will need to give him a calm, consistent, settled home life. πŸ’•

Bertie is grateful for love and attention, at his own pace. We expect that he will continue to blossom in his forever home, and that your patience and care will mean you develop a strong bond with him over time. He’s a VERY rewarding cat to have as a companion and friend. 🌸

As you’ll know from our recent fundraising appeals: Bertie recently had a biopsy and blood tests for a lump under his chin. Thankfully, this came back as nothing sinister. He’s had a course of anti-biotics, just in case. πŸ’Š

Good job, Bertie. πŸ‘

Please form an orderly queue in our DMs for applications for Bertie. We can’t wait to find him his forever people. 😁

NOW AVAILABLE for adoption: Bertie ❀

* Male 🐈
* 3-4 years old πŸ’•
* Best living as an only cat, but may enjoy the company of a younger, friendly cat with slow introductions. May also be okay with a calm, cat friendly dog. 😺🐢
* Will need an experienced owner with a calm home, and someone who is home a fair bit (not all the time though, he likes to roam and sleep). 😴
*Bertie will need access to a garden away from any main roads. 🌳
*Bertie cannot live with children, or in very complex multi-pet households. He only wants to be leader of a small, carefully curated gang. βŒπŸ‘Ά
*Neutered, up to date on flea and worm treatments. πŸ›

This long, lean, shiny dreamboat wants to come and live with you, and play musical chairs! He’ll insist on trying them ALL out. Especially with that big armchair of yours which is perfect for his 7.6kg cat bod. He loves stretching out, and you know he’s especially relaxed when he sleeps on his back. πŸ’Ί

Bertie sadly found himself living on the streets for 2 years when his elderly owner died. πŸ–€πŸ˜Ώ

Thanks to a lovely community of local cat lovers, he was helped with flea and worm treatments, and regular meals; but he was very sad and traumatised after losing his family and living on the scary streets, and he was very unsettled and anxious. πŸ’”

Some of this anxiety came out as overstimulation and play aggression, but this has massively improved since being in a foster home, and is rarely an issue now (but it does still happen from time to time). His new owners will need to continue his training and give him a calm, consistent, settled home life. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

What he’ll give you back in return will be:

β€’ Excellent company
β€’ Living with an explorer of EVERYTHING (he’s nosy, okay)
β€’ Heads bops
β€’ Slow blinks
β€’ The quietest rumbling purrs of appreciation
β€’ Comedy timing
β€’ Chicken thief!
β€’ Trying to fit in small spaces
β€’ Cleaning dust bunnies from room corners
β€’ EXTREME CUTENESS when sleeping (be warned: it’s the MAXIMUM EXTREME of cuteness, are you sure you can handle that?)
β€’ Occasional lap cat loving (which will probably increase over time)
β€’ Sleek slow elegant walks, and hilarious uncoordinated running (think Bambi on ice).

Bertie is a massive fan of his toy catnip crabs, which will be coming with him to his next home! He loves to play, sit by you (he’s an excellent helper in the garden), loves to play catch with Dreamies, enjoys a good meal (or two). πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€

The special thing about Bertie is that he is grateful for love and attention, but at his own pace. We expect that he will continue to blossom in his forever home, and that your patience and care will mean you develop a strong bond with him over time. He’s a very rewarding cat to have as a companion and friend. 🌼

Although he enjoys finding cobwebs to wear on his head - he isn’t a fan of the vacuum cleaner, or a washing machine on a spin cycle. So, please: don’t ask him to do any cleaning…but he’s definitely ready to sweep you off your feet. πŸ•Έ

As you’ll know from our recent fundraising appeals: Bertie recently had a biopsy and blood tests for a lump under his chin. Thankfully this came back as nothing sinister. He’s had a course of anti-biotics, just in case. We’d advise keeping an eye for any changes, and we have all the medical details available if you need them in future. πŸ’Šβ˜Ί

Good job, Bertie. πŸ’–πŸ˜»

Sadly, we had to send Storm over the rainbow bridge today 🌈.

He was suffering and wasn't going to get better 😒. We gave him the best chance but he was rescued too late. Somewhere along the years of straying, he contracted FIV as an entire male. Usually, FIV isn't a problem, and we've successfully rehomed several FIV+ cats over the years. He had a bacteria that didn't shift despite nearly a month of antibiotics and other treatments over the months. As you can see in the photos, he was a snotty boy and really struggled to breathe every minute of every day. His immune system was compromised.

He had a few decent months being in a foster home with lots of love, warmth and good food.

He passed away peacefully with me stroking his chubby cheeks ❀️. Rest in peace, Storm.

Introducing: the many faces of Bertie vs a Lick-e-Lix treat πŸ˜†

Bertie did really well at the vets yesterday when he got his biopsy for the lumps under his jaw (hence his shaved patches!). We haven't got his full results yet, but we can 100% confirm that he is a very good boy. ❀

We wouldn't have been able to afford his vet fees without your support, so thank you to everyone who donated towards his care. We appreciate you, and so does Bertie! πŸ’«

We would be so grateful for any futher funds to make up the full amount for Bertie's tests, and to support the other cats currently in our care.

You make a big difference with any amount you donate, no matter how small (or big!).

Please send pennies and pounds to:

(Friends & family option)

Or let us know if you’d prefer bank transfer!

Thank you for your kindness and support, from all of us at Forgotten Cat Companions. 😽

P.s. Bertie's adoption post will be coming up soon. πŸ’–

Handsome hunk alert 🚨

Mr Dexter Morgan is looking for his furever home and someone to fuss over. Dexter is 13 years old and has lived his life as an only cat so it may be best he stays that way. He’s super duper friendly and loving and is wanting a family to share all his love with! 😻

Dexter would be suited to a quieter home, perhaps with older children, or even an older person/couple for company. Perhaps you were thinking of getting a kitty friend for your elderly parents? If so Dexter is the kitty for you! ❀️

He’s been neutered, chipped and vaccinated and has had recent blood tests and he’s healthy and well and quite frankly, diagnosed gorgeous! He would benefit from renal food due to his age and he’s in foster care in South Yorkshire.

Room for this handsome hunk in your life? Message us! And if you might know someone else, please share Dexters post. 😻

πŸ’” VET BILL APPEAL πŸ’”

Hi everyone!

We haven’t asked in a long time, as we know the current climate of the country with money isn’t good! However we really need some help with recent vet bills πŸ™πŸ»

A few of our current / recent cats have had to have extensive blood work or more treatment than usual, which has left us really struggling to afford it all.

One of our cats Bertie (pictured below) has a lump under his jaw, that is going to cost hundreds just to take a biopsy for testing 😧

If you’re able to, please send a donation towards the care of our cats πŸˆβ€β¬›

PayPal (choose the friends & family option):
[email protected]

You can also call our Vets (Pet Repair) on 01226 664826 to donate directly to our account.

If you’d prefer bank transfer let us know.

Thank you for all your support over the last few years. Small rescues like ourselves would not be able to run without help from followers ❀️

Resharing for Scampi!
*Available for Adoption*

Meet Scampi, our newest kitty ready for his forever home!

This handsome and tidy boy will adorn any home with his gorgeous poise. However, it's important for any adopters to know that he is wary of strangers, so he will need a quiet home (no kids) with gentle introductions.

But don't let that deter you. Once he knows you well, he will be an excellent conversationalist who will chat to you after a hard days work 😍. He has no issues with other cats and generally loves being around the people who he loves. Your company is all he needs to be happy ❀️.

As a young man around 3, Scampi still loves the thrill of the hunt and will need access to outside once he is settled in. Scampi is neutered and chipped.

Please share for Scampi to find his forever family. Located in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

Meet the lovely Storm, he's like a cuddly teddybear 🧸❀️.

Storm came into our care a few weeks ago after spending a long time on the streets. A caring lady was concerned for him as he was extremely congested. He needed vet treatment quickly. Luckily, Storm is improving after antibiotics and steroids plus TLC.

Storm's ill health and being a stray could have been easily prevented if he had his pom-poms removed by whomever owned him. Sadly, the life of unneutered male cats is full of suffering from fighting and searching for females. Neuter your cats, please πŸ™

Storm is a sweet boy who follows his foster mum all the time. He is booked for neutering next week, so hopefully, he gets the all-clear and can find his new home 🀞. Welcome to the FCC family Storm 😍.

Poor Scampi hasn't had any interest. The lovely Scampi deserves a loving home. Please share his adoption post.
