π An update on Some of Our Beautiful Sanctuary Residents π₯° π
Our amazing vet Kat came out yesterday to take a look at Pixies eyes since shes stopped the cream treatment and Sadly now has discolouring with her second eye too. π For now, she will continue with her eye cream morning and night, although this treatment may change depending on what further investigations find.
The heartbreaking reality is that there may be nothing anyone can do to stop Pixie from eventually going blind in both eyes π. However, we have our amazing vet working hard to help her and she is also consulting with an eye specialist in Liverpool π€π€.
We are so proud of our beautiful girl β she was absolutely amazing for Kat yesterday. Such a brave, amazing, sweet little girl π₯°π©·π©·π΄.
π₯° Danny
Our handsome donkey Danny still has a snotty nose. Unfortunately, the Piriton hasn't made any difference and yesterday it also started to smell π.
Danny is now on antibiotics and we're hoping they help. π€ If they don't, he will need to stay on them for longer and have an X-ray of that side of his face to try and find the cause of the problem.
Me and Kat was sooo proud of him yesterday. He allowed Kat to look right inside his mouth and examine him without even wearing a headcollar. He was such a good boy π₯°π«π©΅.
π₯° Phoebe
Our lovely old girl Phoebe is scheduled to have a skin scrape on Monday as her skin condition isn't improving and is unfortunately getting worse π.
I would like to start and use coconut oil to see if it will help soothe her skin, which has now been added to our Amazon Wishlist π.
There is a possibility that Phoebe has developed a deficiency again, so she is back on her mineral powder. We stopped this at the end of winter when she went off it, but as she really needs it. We tried her again last night for the first time and thankfully our beautiful girl happily ate every bit of it in her feed and licked her bowl clean π₯°ππ©·.
Phoebe has gradually lost weight over time despite eating so much, bless her. Combined with her crusty nose getting worse , which now needs cleaning every other day, Kat is investigating everything to see what may be causing these issues and what treatment options might be available. π₯°
She absolutely loves her mineral lick in the stable, but if this is a deficiency issue, that alone will not be enough for our beautiful girl.
π₯° Rocket
Rocket will be going onto Duroton for a week to help with his anaemia. We also found some Equitop Pronutrin in the cupboard that we used for our beautiful boy Fergus, so Rocket will be having that for a week too to see if it helps with his weight and sloppy π© episodes π.
π₯° Dave
We will also need to order more Inflacam from the vets very soon, as our beautiful boy Dave only has around 1 maybe 2 syringes left for when he needs it
π As you can see, quite a few of our babies are facing health challenges at the moment, and the vet bills and ongoing treatments are really adding up.
There are still several much-needed items on our amazing Amazon Wishlist. If you're able to help in any way, whether by purchasing an item, sharing our posts, or sending good wishes to our animals, we would be incredibly grateful β€οΈ.
Thank you for always supporting our sanctuary family. It means more than you'll ever know π₯°π΄πβ€οΈ
