Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Barney!

Isn't he adorable?

Barney really challenged my hobby level photography skills with him being a black dog and outdoors capturing action shots proved an even bigger challenge.

But here he is in all his adorableness!

DOES YOUR RECALL LOOK LIKE THIS?

Recall is a skill that many owners would love their dogs to have.

Sadly, I am noticing more and more dogs don't have this skill but owners would love their dog to have the freedom it gives them.

Regardless of distractions:

Does your dog come when you call?

Does your dog return randomly because they decided they want to be next to you?

Does your dog run at you excitedly even if the lead may or may not be going back on?

OR

Does your dog ignore you when you call?

Does your dog stay as far away as possible doing whatever they want?

Does your dog reluctantly return to you and looks miserable about it?

ELDERLY DOGS DON'T NEED TO STAY HOME!

Pippa is my Mum's lovely 16 year old JRT and Keeko is my lovely 11 year old Russell Terrier multi mix Heinz 57.

Pippa...who walks, runs, plays and even swims at Aquapaws Hydrotherapy in Carlton...

Also rides in a pram.

Why?

Well Pippa, as unbelievably fit and healthy she is for her age, has Arthritis and walking can be hard.

The Pram allows her world to stay bigger, rather than shrinking. Allowing her to be with her friend Keeko, sniff new and exciting places and socialising.

Even from a pram its still enrichment, its great for their mental and physical wellbeing.

Best of all its enriching to you both.

Tonight is my Graduation Ceremony for my BSc (Hons) Canine and Feline Behaviour and Welfare (Top-Up)! I will be graduating with a 2:1 and honestly, I really wasn't far off a FIRST!

Next Step: My Masters at the University of Lincoln - MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour.

At this point I have accepted I am a glutton for punishment 😂 but at the same time I wouldn't have felt that going this far was possible for me, if it wasn't for all the support I received from Askham Bryan, the tutors and my classmates.

It makes a world of difference and feels surreal going from one University where I was completely unsupported and discriminated against to one who showed me what I am capable of.

So thank you, and on to the next chapter I go. 💪
