Polite Notice regarding weather and updates for this year.

Currently making my way through messages and will get back to everyone asap. if I have missed your message please sent a 👍.

Weather & Appointments

Snow has been forecast for my area on Thursday and Friday. If you are located further away, I may struggle to reach you on time on those days.

In the event of significant snowfall, I will not be travelling and affected appointments will be moved to Saturday or Sunday once the roads are clearer.

Please note that I do not drive a 4x4 (although I do have winter tyres). In past snowy conditions, delays caused by other vehicles becoming stuck have resulted in lost time and missed appointments. Additionally, school closures may require me to return home to collect my children.

Thank you for your understanding safety always comes first.

Payments
Bank transfer payments must be made on the day of the appointment, unless prior arrangements have been agreed.
If payment is repeatedly late, I will require future payments to be made in cash.
I will now be sending payment reminders at the end of each working day for clients trimmed that day. if I have to give you a further message of reminder, I will add a messaged asking for cash next time. I have a new monzo business account please check your are paying into the right account.

Pricing
My prices will NOT be increasing this year.

Thank you all for your continued support and understanding.

Also this is a A.I photo because I would not look this happy in snow 😂

This time of year, horses love to browse the hedgerows, but hawthorn and blackthorn aren’t always kind to hooves.

Their sharp thorns can easily puncture, sometimes hiding in the frog or along the coronary band. Even the tiniest splinter can introduce bacteria, leading to those familiar crusty yellow scabs or, in some cases, abscesses.

👀 That’s why I spend a little extra time at this season carefully checking for thorns during trims. Prevention is always better than dealing with an infection later.

And while I was at it, I had to capture these gorgeous Highland hooves (yes, I took shots of all angles😍).

I'm back!

I have had a fantastic time away with my family. Italy was beautiful 😍

I know a lot of you are waiting for a message reply about appointments, etc. I will be aiming to get back to you today at some point.

I’ve been pulling 12-hour days trying to get everyone sorted before my time off. You’d think I was sailing off on a year long voyage, but nope just two weeks off 😅.

My body’s not exactly thrilled about it either. My right forearm is puffed up from overuse, and my hands now have calluses building calluses of their own.

The perks? Callused skin is like built-in armour, i know this because I cut through my gloves into my palm the other day and didn’t even pierce the skin 😬.

The downside? They’re about as soft as sandpaper and catch on everything.

Anyone else’s hands look like these? At this rate, they’ll be able to pick up a rasp and help out.

I’ve sharpened my knives with a Dremel for years, but I’ve just treated myself to a Bench grinder, and what a difference it has made! The edge came out razor sharp in seconds. This is going to save me so much time in the future, especially on busy days.

I did notice the grinder gives a cleaner, more consistent edge, which means my knife stays sharper for longer and is going to be quicker to touch up. Total game changer for trimming days!

This horse lives on a track system, and as always, they are soild! like concrete. Even after soaking. I managed to get through these horses today without nipping back to the car to swap out my knife.
