"Our" juvenile Buzzard is doing brilliantly thanks to the caring staff at CapesWildlifeRescue 🙏
He will soon be able to be released which we are very excited to be able to do in the next few days🦅🚀
We are Soooo excited that he gets another opportunity at life.

🦅 BUZZARD RESCUE — ELECTROCUTION

This beautiful buzzard was found grounded and unable to fly after being electrocuted. The finder reported smelling burning flesh at the scene, a heartbreaking indication of just how serious the incident had been.

He was brought into our care stressed, weak and in shock. After such a traumatic experience, he needed somewhere quiet, warm and safe to recover.

Thankfully, he is now receiving the care, monitoring and rest he desperately needs. ❤️‍🩹

Electrocution can cause serious injuries that aren’t always immediately obvious, so these birds require careful assessment and monitoring even when there are no obvious external wounds.

We’re incredibly grateful to the person who stopped, recognised that something was wrong and got him to safety. Without members of the public looking out for wildlife, many of these animals simply wouldn’t get a second chance.

Massive thankyou to the finders (Broadlands Cattery) for reporting this to us and fetching him to the rescue 🙏

If you find a wild bird that is grounded, injured or behaving unusually, please don’t assume it will simply fly away. Contact a wildlife rescue for advice and give them the chance they deserve.

Just found it at the bottom of a dropper power line. Still alive, I can smell burning, but have brought it home

Many of you will know our lovely Sophie, who spends her days giving all of our feline guests the very best care here at Broadlands Cattery🩵🐱

Next year, Sophie will be taking on her biggest challenge that she has always dreamed off… She is going to be running London Marathon 2027🎉🥳

Running has always been something Sophie absolutely loves. Whether it’s a quick run to clear her mind or training for a running event especially like this.. she is the happiest when her running shoes are on!👟💪Now she is turning that passion into something truely meaningful by raising money for the ‘Sunflower Children’s Action Group”. 🌻💛

The sunflower children’s action group is a wonderful charity that supports children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, along with their families. They provide activities, opportunities, and vital support that help children build confidence, make friends, and create lasting memories. Every donation helps them continue their amazing work within the community💛🌻
