🐾 Chase – Border Collie x Schnauzer
Age: 5 years

Chase is still looking for his new home via private rehoming, with full support from our rescue. He is currently staying in his own familiar home environment with his owners while we find the perfect match for him.

He is a sensitive soul who needs the right environment and understanding people to help him feel safe and confident.

💙 About Chase:

•Very loving and affectionate once he trusts you

• Wonderful with children – currently lives happily with 3 kids

• Gets on perfectly with other dogs and is completely calm around a family cat

• Settles well once he feels secure in his space

⚠️ Things his new home needs to know:

• He can be nervous, and more wary of men than women

• Walking on a lead is very challenging for him – he pulls strongly; he has never been let off lead

• He reacts to traffic: he lunges at cars and is very unsettled by lorries, motorbikes or large noisy vehicles

• When visitors arrive he barks at first; he settles once they sit down, but will become anxious and bark again if they stand up to move around or leave

🏡 What Chase needs most:

✅ A quiet home, ideally away from busy main roads with some land or at least a large garden
✅ Owners experienced with nervous or reactive dogs, happy to take training slowly
✅ A calm, consistent routine and plenty of time and patience
✅ Preferably a female‑led household, or with a man who is very experienced and gentle with shy dogs

Chase has so much love to give – he just needs the right people to help him shine.

Adoption fee applies. Home check and application process required as normal.

Please message us if you can offer exactly what Chase needs 💛

🐶 Major’s Legacy – We’re Looking for Foster Carers Across the UK!

Fostering is the heartbeat of our rescue – we simply cannot save more dogs without safe, loving homes to welcome them in. Fostering means opening your home to one of our dogs temporarily, until we find their perfect forever family. Every dog is different – some need time to heal, build confidence, or just learn how to be loved in a home for the very first time. We are recruiting foster carers anywhere across the UK – not just Wales!

What we offer you:
✅ Full cover for all vet bills, vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
✅ 24/7 support, advice and guidance from our experienced team
✅ Full back‑up if you ever need a break or emergency cover
✅ Access to trusted behaviourists and training support where needed

Our focus is German Shepherds and similar breeds, but we also help other dogs in need. Many come from difficult backgrounds – they may be nervous, need extra patience, or just have never known a proper home. Some are older dogs, some are youngsters, and some come with their own unique quirks. All deserve a warm, safe place to wait for their new start.

What we ask from you:
✅ A safe, secure home environment – secure fencing is essential
✅ Time, patience and plenty of kindness
✅ Willingness to follow our guidance and keep us updated on the dog’s progress
✅ Able to work around our home‑check and handover process
✅ Can foster for anywhere from a few weeks up to several months – we can match you to shorter or longer stays to suit you!

You don’t need previous experience – just a big heart and willingness to learn!

If you’d like to give a dog a soft place to land, please pop us a message directly. We’ll send you all the info you need, answer any questions, and chat through what would work best for you.

Every foster home gives one more dog a second chance at happiness 💛

🐾 Join Our Foster Team – Before We Launch! 🐾

Major’s Legacy is being set up in loving memory of our special German Shepherd Major, with a focus on supporting German Shepherds as well as all other breeds.

We’re still in the early stages of getting everything ready to officially launch – but we want to build our team of dedicated foster carers right now, so the moment we’re up and running, we’re fully prepared to help dogs straight away.

When you foster with us, we provide all veterinary care, vaccinations, flea/worm treatments, insurance, bedding, crates, toys and any equipment the dog needs.

✨ What we’re looking for:

• A safe, loving home environment

• Patience, kindness and commitment

• Willingness to follow our care guidance

• Regular updates on how the dog is settling in

Fostering lengths can be flexible – short or longer stays – whatever works for you. We’ll be here to support you every step of the way.

If you’d like to register your interest and be one of our first foster carers, please send us a message or comment below! We can’t wait to hear from you 💛
