🍁Autumn magic at Esher Common with Thula the Goldendoodle 🍁

I recently had the pleasure of photographing beautiful Thula at Esher Common — and this session came with an extra special twist. Her mum booked the shoot as a surprise gift for Thula’s dad, and honestly… what a perfect present. ❤️

Thula was made for autumn. Her gorgeous golden curls blended seamlessly with the warm tones of the ferns, creating the most stunning natural palette. The light, the colours, the textures — everything came together beautifully. And Thula? She absolutely shone.

From floofball to full-on bear mode 🐾🎂

I first photographed Elsa the Newfoundland x St Bernard at just 12 weeks old — already weighing 18kgs and full of floof. Fast forward almost a year and her mum booked me again to celebrate Elsa’s 1st birthday with a photoshoot at Banstead Woods in Surrey. She’s now a magnificent 75kgs of gentle giant energy… and yes, her pre-shoot brush filled two shopping bags with fur. Respect. 🙌

Elsa was an absolute sweetheart — still with that cheeky pup sparkle in her eye and a good dose of big dog zoomies (usually right after an enthusiastic bum sniff of any passing dog 😅). At one point I was flat on the ground photographing her bounding towards me, and in my head I turned full David Attenborough:
“Here comes the inquisitive young bear… approaching the strange short man on the floor. Soon he will be covered in slobber and fur, yet somehow… he seems to enjoy this.”

I forgot to grab my traditional post-shoot selfie because I got caught up chatting with Elsa’s mum. One day I’ll learn that not everyone wants to talk about dogs 24/7… but today was not that day.

This sweet black Labrador was an absolute star during my spring mini photoshoots at Claremont Gardens. The way the light danced through the trees and caught her glossy coat was just magic. ✨⁠

I hear it all the time: “My black dogs are so hard to photograph. I can never get a good photo – they always look too dark!”

But with the right light, a bit of patience, and knowing how to bring out all that detail in post, black dogs absolutely shine. 💫⁠

🎉 Happy 5th Birthday, Dobby! 🎉

This lovely Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was a total sweetheart during his photoshoot at Painshill back in May. He looked right at home among the bluebells — pure magic! 💙🌸

Of course, Dobby was on his lead the whole time, in line with Painshill’s dog visitor guidelines — and we still captured so many beautiful moments 🐾✨

It got me thinking… maybe this should be a new tradition? If I’ve photographed your dog and their birthday’s coming up, let me know in the comments — I’d love to celebrate them too! 🐶🎂

There’s been far too many photos of other dogs on here lately… I’m just here to remind Dad that I’m the only doggo in his eyes 🐾👑

Fresh from the groomers and looking fabulous, I insisted on a lunch date. It had been weeks since I’d had a Poppycino and frankly, the craving was real.

Luckily I’ve been on my best behaviour—no garden breaches, no bin raids—so I had a bit of pawcket money saved up 💰 I gave Dad the look… and off we went to Handleys.

Fresh water on arrival (thank you very much), a few cheeky treats from the jar by the till, and then the main event: a creamy pup cup topped with a biscuit poking out like a 99 flake 🍦✨

I was living my best doodle life. Dad even nearly ordered one for himself.
P.S. He wouldn’t stop raving about his coronation chicken jacket… hello? I’m the main character 🙄

🐾 9 weeks old and already stealing hearts! 💕
Meet Olive the Cavapoo—tiny, fluffy, and just starting to explore the world from the safety of her home (she’s in “air jail” outside until all her jabs are done!).

This little bundle of cuteness was a bit unsure at first, but with a bit of time, space, and patience, she soon warmed up and started doing what puppies do best—chewing things she shouldn’t, snuggling her favourite blanket, and gifting me the most perfect head tilt I’ve ever seen. 😍

The whole puppy photoshoot lasted just 30 minutes before Olive decided she was done and ready for a snooze. Honestly, what a dream life! 🐶💤

All shot in her lounge with natural light—her owners couldn’t believe the moments we captured in such a short space of time. Olive wasn’t posing. She was just being her sweet self, and that’s what makes puppy sessions like this so magical.

From full-on splash zone to total zen 🐾
I was at the spaniel meet-up today – and wow, these dogs know how to party! High-speed chases, flying tennis balls, and one very determined dunk in the water tub… then suddenly, peace. Spaniels really are the full package!

I ran mini photoshoots for some of the brilliant pups and their humans – and the final photos will be ready soon. Until then, here’s a sneak peek of the energy (and the chill) 💦
