My tallest client!

Mr Cash certainly is at the top of the list at around the 18hh marks when he lifts his head, he turns more giraffe than horse! Not sure the pictures do it justice, but his withers are over my head!

Thankfully he’s a very polite chap with good manners and seems to like what I do. Always pulls some great faces too. His brother isn’t too small either. Certainly need my wheatabix when treating these two 😁

If you’re interested in seeing if equine osteopathy could help your horse, then I’d love to hear from you.

1 YEAR in Aberdeenshire!

A slightly belated post, but it’s incredible to think that we have now been in Aberdeenshire for the last 12 months. Moving up at the start of July 2025, what a year it has been. With a very hot summer, followed by an extremely snowy and wet winter!

Weather aside! I have been lucky to have many great human, equine and canine clients and getting to explore the north and even south at the same time. Covering from Moray to Angus and everything in between.

If you’re interested in seeing if osteopathy can work for yourself or your animal, then I’d love to hear from you.

Glads is 2!

A slightly belated birthday post for him but it’s amazing how much he has matured and grown.

He’s very inquisitive and very gentle. The world is brilliant and he just loves life🤣😁

We think he’s going to be growing to the upper end of 14hh, maybe even touching on 15hh!

Have you ever seen a horse with hiccups?! This is pretty rare and can be due to electrolyte imbalance. It is called Synchronous Diaphragmatic Flutter, caused by calcium deficiency which increases excitability of the phrenic nerve which controls the diaphragm 🤓. We have seen a few cases in the vet practice recently! Supplementing electrolytes is important if horses are sweating in the heat. Whether they are performance, endurance horses or just prone to overheating in the field and may become dehydrated. Make sure they are supplemented with appropriately balanced electrolytes. 💦🥵

WHY MAINTENANCE IS IMPORTANT!

With the Scottish summer in full flow, horses and riders are doing much more. With events and lessons most weeks and weekends, looking after your horse and your own body is key for a long summer of riding!

Preventative maintenance treatment is great at helping iron out any tightness and restriction in muscles and joints before they become problematic. Keeping your horse moving well is key to when looking to keep your horse performing at their best for long periods.

If you have been thinking about getting yourself and your horse booked in for an osteopathic session then I’d love to hear from you.

A snap from a session last week with Dude a few days before an ROR event, leaving with 1st place, which has led to him qualifying for his Nationals at Aintree!

His rider is very pleased and I’m booked back to see them both pre Aintree in a months time 😁

(Excuse my closed eyes in the picture!🤣)

Always great to have great feedback post Osteo sessions, and even better when the feedback includes rosettes 😬!
