🐾 Business ID tags completed for a fantastic local dog business!🐾

Did you know that having your dog microchipped isn’t enough?

Under the Control of Dogs Order 1992, dogs must wear a collar in public displaying the owner’s name and address—either written on the collar or on an attached ID tag.

⚠️ An ID tag attached only to a harness does not satisfy the law. Your dog must still wear a collar carrying the required identification.

The law applies to both the dog’s owner and whoever is in charge of the dog at the time, including a professional dog walker. Either—or potentially both—could be prosecuted if the dog is out in public without the correct identification.

Failure to comply is a criminal offence and can result in a fine of up to £5,000 in Scotland.

Before heading out, check that every dog has:

🐶 A collar
🏷️ An ID tag showing the owner’s name and address
📱 An up-to-date telephone number—strongly recommended
✅ A registered microchip with current details

A tag might be small, but it can make a huge difference if a dog becomes lost—and it keeps owners and dog professionals on the right side of the law!

🐾 WHY DOES MY DOG KEEP LICKING THEIR PAWS? 🐾

Have you noticed your dog constantly licking or chewing their paws? 🐶

While the occasional lick is normal, repeated paw licking can be a sign that something isn’t quite right — from allergies and irritation to yeast, infections, or something stuck between their toes.

We’ve put together a helpful guide explaining the common causes, what to look out for, and how you can help keep your dog’s paws healthy. 🌿🐾

🐺 NEW IN – MILLIES WOLFHEART! 🐺

We’ve added another fantastic food range to the shelves at Stinky Beasties — Millies Wolfheart! 🙌🐾

We now have a selection of both dry kibble AND complete wet food tins in store.

If you haven’t come across Millies Wolfheart before, they’re a small, family-run British company producing their own bespoke recipes, with a big focus on quality ingredients and meat-based protein.

What we particularly like about the range:

🐾 Grain & gluten free
🐾 No rice
🐾 No chicken or eggs
🐾 No beet pulp
🐾 No synthetic preservatives or additives
🐾 Meat/fish-based protein
🐾 British made 🇬🇧
🐾 Loads of different recipes to suit different dogs, including lower-fat options

Their kibble range goes right up to 80% meat/fish recipes, and their complete wet foods contain 70% meat/fish with selected fruit and vegetables.

So if you’ve got a dog with a sensitive tummy, you're trying to avoid chicken or grain, or you simply want to have a look at another quality food option — come in and have a nosey at the range.

And as always, if you're completely baffled by dog food labels and don't know which one to choose, ask us! 😂 We'll happily help you work through the options.

🐺 Millies Wolfheart – now available at Stinky Beasties, Banchory.
