Cattery & Small Animal Assistant
25–30 Hours Per Week
We are looking for a reliable, caring and hardworking Cattery & Small Animal Assistant to join our team in a professional animal-care setting.
We care for cats, small furries and birds, and pride ourselves on providing the very highest standards of care, cleanliness and attention to every animal staying with us.
The Role
Your day-to-day duties will include:
Cleaning and preparing pens, enclosures and animal accommodation to an exceptionally high standard
Feeding cats, small furries and birds, following individual feeding requirements
Providing daily care and attention to all animals staying with us
Monitoring the animals in our care and reporting any concerns
Greeting clients in a friendly, confident and professional manner
Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout
General duties to help with the smooth running of a busy, professional animal-care environment
Hours
25–30 hours per week
Weekend cover is required on a 1 in 2 weekend basis, along with Bank Holiday cover. Weekends and Bank Holidays are shared fairly between the team on a split rota system.
As we care for animals 365 days a year, applicants must be flexible and understand that weekend and Bank Holiday working is an important part of the role.

We are looking for someone who is:
Genuinely passionate about animal care and welfare
Confident and comfortable around cats, small furries and birds
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
Hardworking with excellent attention to detail
Able to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and animal care
Friendly, approachable and professional when dealing with clients
Able to work independently as well as being a good team player
Happy with the physical and practical nature of the role
Previous animal-care experience is preferred, but not essential. We are also interested in applicants with the right attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine desire to provide exceptional standards of care.
Salary - Wage dependent on experience.
