Beginner Species.

Queen: 15-16mm Reddish brown, monogyne (1 Queen in a colony)
Lifespan: 15-20 years
Workers: 7-14mm
Colony : can reach several thousand workers, set in a cloister (Queen don't need food during founding)
From egg to worker around 40-45 days.
Native :from France to Spain, Greece
Can be found in clear forest, nesting mostly in dead wood
Diet: Honey, sugarwater, honeydew, insects and fruits
Temperature of formicarium: 18-28 degree, Nest :22-24 degree
Hibernation: Yes, from middle or end of October to end of March. in 8-12 degrees.

Agressive species, very activ and spectacular.
