WE REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT… 💔

I honestly don’t know where to start with this post.

As things stand at the minute, we simply cannot help any more dogs. 😔

Our last few appeals have gained very little traction, our posts are barely reaching anyone, and donations are at an all-time low. I hate coming on here constantly with what probably feels like the same story and the same negativity, but the reality is that we are struggling.

Over the last two weeks alone, we have taken in 5 pound dogs, all of whom require full veterinary work. We took them because they needed us, but that means our vet bill continues to grow while we are struggling to raise the funds needed to cover the dogs already in our care.

We have reached the point where I cannot take any more dogs in for now. It isn’t fair to the dogs we already have to keep increasing our vet bill when we are not raising enough funds and dogs are not being rehomed.

And honestly, I don’t know what happens next.
Not just next week or next month, but where this leaves us as a rescue in general.

We are just ordinary people trying to do our best for dogs who desperately need someone to care about them. We aren’t social media savvy, we aren’t experts in fundraising, and we certainly don’t have some magic formula for getting our posts seen or raising thousands of pounds.

We are simply people who saw dogs needing help and decided to do something about it. We do the best we can with what we have, but right now what we have just isn’t enough.

I spend so much time trying to think of ways to reach more people, increase our audience, raise funds and keep things moving, but nothing seems to be working at the minute. It is incredibly disheartening when you know there are dogs out there needing help and you simply don’t have the financial means to take them.

FIVE WEEKS OLD 💔

Five weeks old… that’s all this tiny girl is.

Five weeks old and already being handed over to the first people willing to take her because someone simply couldn’t be bothered to continue raising her and her littermates. 😔

She should still be with her mum, learning, growing and enjoying being a puppy with her brothers and sisters. Instead, she has been taken away from everything she knows far too soon.

We have no idea what happened to her littermates. We can only hope they have genuinely found safe, loving homes. 🤞💔

She is now safe with us, but taking on another puppy comes with more vet bills, food, vaccinations, microchipping and everything else she needs to give her the start in life she deserves.

🐾 UPDATE ON WEE MABEL 🐾

Our wee Mabel has now been to the vets twice and she’s back again tomorrow 😩💔

Something just isn’t right with our girl. She isn’t herself at all, and because of this, the vets need to sedate her tomorrow so they can carry out bloods and further tests to try and figure out what’s going on.

We’re honestly getting worried about her, and of course we will do whatever is needed to get her feeling better. ❤️‍🩹

But the reality is, our vet bills are already extremely high, and we desperately need to raise funds — and fast. 😔

We also have another boy promised to come into our care next week. He is badly in need of help, and we simply couldn’t leave him without a rescue place. But we need to be financially prepared to take on another dog, and right now, we aren’t.

We hate having to keep asking, but without your support we genuinely cannot continue helping these dogs. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. Even £1 helps towards their vet care. 🐶❤️

Maybe not the most positive post, but the last few weeks have been extremely hard for one reason or another. 😔

Placing dogs into suitable foster homes has become almost impossible lately, meaning more and more dogs are simply stuck in the pound. 😫

Within the last few days, Da**ie, our elderly Staffy, has returned to us and has had to go into paid boarding kennels. Now, a little pound Staffy who was due to travel tomorrow has been left with nowhere to go after their foster placement pulled out.

And honestly… where are these dogs meant to go? 💔

We are constantly tagged in posts about dogs needing rescued, and we desperately want to help them. But where do these dogs go when we have nowhere for them to go?

It is soul-destroying when we work so hard behind the scenes to find suitable foster homes, carry out checks, arrange transport and vet care, only for a placement to fall through for little or no reason. 🤷‍♀️

We know we aren’t the only rescue facing this problem. Rescues don’t have an unlimited number of kennels, and paid boarding is an absolute last resort for us because of the cost. Those spaces are supposed to be there to help save a dog’s life when there genuinely is nowhere else.

But right now, we have a Staffy sitting in a pound with nowhere to go, and I’m honestly at a loss as to where we go from here. 😔

It seems everyone wants to foster the small and fluffy dogs, while the Staffies, bull breeds and larger dogs are becoming increasingly difficult to place. 🤦‍♀️

🚨 WE URGENTLY NEED A FOSTER HOME 🚨

We need a foster home for a male Staffy.

🏡 No young children
🐶 No other dogs
❤️ A safe, secure and patient home
🐾 Rescue support, food and veterinary care provided
