When I opened Gifts & Giggles Galore just over a year ago, I never imagined I’d be sitting here as a finalist for an award like this. There have been plenty of long days, lots of learning, a few challenges along the way, and so many wonderful moments that have made it all worthwhile.

For a wee independent shop on Ballyclare Main Street, being recognised in this way feels like a huge achievement already. To even make the final is something I’m incredibly proud of.

The shop has always been about more than just selling gifts. It’s about supporting local makers, creating a welcoming space, bringing something different to the town, and hopefully putting a smile on people’s faces when they walk through the door.

ONE SPOILT LADY 💕

Well… yesterday was definitely one to remember 😂 As you’ll see from the videos, I was actually working when all the surprises started arriving lol.

I honestly felt completely overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness. Huge thank you to Donna, Sharon, Sarah, Selina, Sharlene and Tanya for the gorgeous gifts, lovely cards and THE most amazing cake 🎂

I got lovely clothes, money, gift vouchers, jewellery, crystals, Michael Kors perfume, a gorgeous Rituals set, my very own Swarovski pen and a personalised keyring with my theme tune lol 😂 Honestly, you all know me too well.

A special thank you as well for the lovely early birthday lunch.

Also, thank you so much to everyone who popped into the shop to wish me a happy birthday and for all the lovely birthday messages and wishes

Not gonna lie, getting home a couple of hours early was a treat in itself… then I got spoilt all over again by my family before heading out for dinner. Even got the full red carpet treatment 😂

Feeling very lucky and very loved. Thanks so much everyone 🩷

My sincere thoughts and prayers are with the man who was attacked in Belfast. No one should have to go through something like that.

It’s honestly heartbreaking reading and seeing so many posts of damage, fear, and local businesses suffering.

I completely understand that people are angry and frustrated, but attacking local businesses that have been part of our communities for years and people who are simply trying to work hard and build a life for themselves, is not the answer.

Violence has never solved anything, and neither has smashing up our own wee country. We can disagree, we can be frustrated, but there’s a way to handle things without fear, destruction, and innocent people suffering.

If anyone is able to spare anything at all, please consider donating to help this lovely business get back on its feet and reopen again. Every little bit helps.
