“Our 11 month old puppy is having such fun doing her first agility training! We all loved the taster session Emma ran and signed up straight away to do the Bronze 6 week course. Each session is very well organised, with exercises clearly explained and the emphasis is on your dog enjoying it all! We are learning so much from Emma and enjoying doing something different with our pup. Emma's love for what she does is very evident! Thank you Emma!” Debbie, Anglian Dog Works Client

POV: You’re a small business owner

The saying goes, “A good workman sharpens his tools.”

But when you’re the one doing the building, creating, planning, packing, problem-solving and everything in between… sometimes you forget that YOU need sharpening too.

What started as a trip to celebrate a year full of wonderful things and to spend some time adventuring with an old friend turned out to be a much-needed opportunity to properly switch off and recharge.

We didn’t realise just how much we needed to switch off until we actually did it.

Time away, new experiences and a little distance from the day-to-day have left us feeling more refreshed than we have in a long time.

Now we’re back, recharged and ready to get stuck in.

There’s a new chapter on the horizon for Anglian Dog Works.

Something exciting is taking shape behind the scenes. We’re not quite ready to share it yet, but watch this space.

And we cannot wait to share more when the time is right.

Stay tuned 👀

Does your dog go to the gym?
In canine physio, a sit-down-sit-stand is what we call a “dog squat.” Whether it’s unaided like protection-trained Duke or lured like Thea for rehab, this movement targets their quads, glutes, and hamstrings to build essential hindquarter strength.

Using a position box prevents compensation, promotes equal weight distribution across both back legs, and keeps them moving correctly for maximum benefit.

Considered conditioning for your dog? Save this for your next training session! 💾

Think your dog would love agility because they jump the 5-bar gate at home like a pro? 🐶💨
Here’s the thing: agility isn’t just about whether your dog can jump. That part is never in doubt! Agility is a teamwork game where you and your dog complete a course without faults, in the exact right order.
And given that our dogs are WAY faster than us... steering is essential.
A jump isn’t just a jump. If you just say “over,” what does that actually mean?
Is it “over” and power straight forward? ⚡
Is it “over” and turn left? 👈
Is it “over” and turn right? 👉
Should you be decelerating for a tight turn, or accelerating for speed?
That’s why we teach dogs a specific word for each type of jump command they’ll encounter on a course. “Over” isn’t enough when you need precision teamwork!
