WALK YOUR DOG WEEK | 1–7 OCTOBER 🐾
Living in Ayr, we’re pretty lucky when it comes to finding beautiful places for walkies, and Ayr Beach has to be one of our favourites‼️🌊🐕
This , it’s a great reminder that regular walks aren’t just about burning off some energy. They provide important physical exercise, mental stimulation, opportunities to sniff and explore, and precious one-to-one time with you.
Regular exercise can also play an important role in maintaining a healthy weight. However, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer to “How much exercise does my dog need?”
🐶 Puppies have growing bones and joints, so exercise needs to be appropriate for their stage of development.
🐕 Younger, active dogs may need considerably more exercise and stimulation.
🐾 Older dogs can still benefit enormously from getting out and about, but shorter, more frequent walks may be kinder on ageing joints.
And remember, a walk doesn’t always have to mean miles and miles! Allowing your dog time to sniff, investigate and enjoy their surroundings provides valuable enrichment too.
So, whether it’s a big adventure or a gentle wander along Ayr Beach, get those leads out and enjoy some quality time together this week‼️🌊🐾
